Well stated on all of your comments. I posted this yesterday and got roasted.

quote:

Where are you getting this idea that holding a man responsible for his actions is somehow hateful?
That is some seriously distorted thinking.
Holding people accountable builds character and integrity.
If whatever is going on behind the scenes leads to TM staying at LSU on his own dime and returning a year later to play, I will applaud a guy I am already a fan of and I am pulling for him to succeed. Not just on the football field, but in life.

THIS! If he doesn't get held accountable for his actions then what would make people like Sam and Mingo want to be the great upstanding men they are?! People always say it can be a great story, well yes but there are other great stories of men who choose not to do bad things when they have a chance to do them. And if he doesn't learn his lesson now he never will. If he continues this path he won't have a meaningful job because no one will hire a habitual drug offender. So if he learns now and works his way back great but he made his bed so he has to sleep in it. And I am saying this and I don't hate him but he has to be accountable for this.

In real life and with a real job, you get one chance-then you update your resume.

I think everyone deserves a couple chances. But if you've been sat down and told the rules and talked to about it, you shouldn't get another.

So if LSU holds itself to a higher standard, that is a bad thing?

Not at all. The shitty thing is that it's not consistent across the board at all SEC schools. If TM7 was at Florida, Arky, or Ole Miss he'd get at least one more chance (not saying he deserves it).

Somebody posted that of all the schools in the SEC, something like half have a 3 strikes policy. Some others are more lenient, and poor Ole Miss doesn't even have a defined number of times you can fail before you get kicked off the team.
