re: How much money does Orgeron deserve now?

He deserves $1 more than anybody else is willing to pay him. Anything more would be stupid of LSU to do, and unnecessary. You pay him whatever it takes to stay at LSU, whether that be a 500k raise, or a 5 mil dollar raise.
Lmao so he should get stiffed because he’s loyal to LSU? People want to hire him now, but he’s not leaving LSU for anything.

$6 mill a year for 5 or 6 more years, plus bonuses.

And I might be completely wrong here, but something tells me that O would rather have money go to keep/get great coordinators, as opposed to him get a gaudy raise
I hope you're right. And if you are and he does choose to forego raises in order to pay coordinators, then O could go down as the best ever at LSU, assuming he continues to have success. And I was someone that argued against the hire for a long time.
My concern was always that we would be more reliant on assistant coaches than most teams and if O was successful, how would we be able to pay him and the assistants. The second part is still a concern.
But he has things rolling right now so I'm certainly happy right now.

He has steadily improved and his 3.5 million in the beginning was considered low for Lsu's level of competition. He has beaten many top 10 teams has developed his players and are definitely have no sign of slowing down.
Honestly he should get a million dollar bonus every time he beats bama while saban is the head coach

Did I say he should get "stiffed?" I said he should be pay whatever it takes for him to remain the head coach at LSU. If that answer is nothing, then it means he is happy making what he is, and wants it to keep going to coordinators. If he wants more, he will be able to get more. I never said he shouldn't.

Link please. You'll never respond to this nonsense, but you should stop just making crap up.

Unless there is a clause in his contract saying he will get paid a certain amount I don’t think he will get paid Saban or Jimbo type of money and idk if he cares
Posted on 1/2/20 at 5:08 am to siliconvalleytiger
He’s never gonna leverage LSU for money.
He just doesn’t strike me as one of those coaches

O deserves Top 20 $$$$ at the very least. LSU is not the only school that pays staff well. Dabo makes $9.3m and Venebles $2.2 million. I say bump O up to $6 and pay Joe B. $2.

A 7 year $55 mil contract with incentives

Give him a giant bonus for hardware, but otherwise stick with the model.
Exactly! And he already has a contractual bonus for all the hardware. Orgeron will make almost $6 million this season.

You could pay O, $50K a year and unlimited Old Charter and he'd stay forever. He wants money for the best coaches he can get.
Posted on 1/2/20 at 8:13 am to siliconvalleytiger
He deserves a monthly contribution from every LSU fan.
Nega tigers pay double.

Again I say, he should get stiffed because he loves LSU and wouldn’t leave? That’s no way to treat an employee.
I think he will get a significant salary bump after the season, as he should.

In terms of percentages, how much is Brady worth to the program vs. Orgeron? 30% 50% 75% Think about it. Same some $$ for the Mad Scientist.

Wrong.
Aranda got a raise when O was hired, then got an even bigger raise 1.5 years later, because he is the most important Coordinator in the country because O can't stand on his own, and everyone knew it. Otherwise, you would tell Aranda to go pound sand.
This is the model we've chosen and it works, as soon as Ed O starts to be "the man," diminishing our ability to go get top coordinators (which WE set the new bar on), we'll start to see problems.
Boy it sure didn't take long for the negatigers and the anti O crowd to jump in and set the record straight did it?
The fact is O took less money to both hire the best coaches out there and to prove he could do the job. Not to mention save LSU a ton of money in terms of Miles' contract and the ridiculous amount of pay Herman and Fisher were wanting.
O is an honorable man and a very loyal man, and he did it all under very intense scrutiny from a reasonable percentage of the fan base.
And if I know O, he likely only wants a modest raise with the ability to keep hiring the best coaches he can. However, he's earned the right to decide how this unfolds and to say otherwise is lunacy.
It's disgusting to hear fans continue to find subtle ways to take a jab at the man... "he can't stand on his own", "we'll start to see problems", and many other gems from this thread. Some giving all the credit to Brady, when in fact O was the only coach in America to have the balls to offer him a job. THAT'S LEADERSHIP.
I for one trust O implicitly. He's shown that he is clearly capable of leading a program and making tough decisions, and taking risks. No only that, but he's very quick to act if he feels something isn't right.
The losers that still look for ways to throw stones need to find another team to root for.

You say this like it isn't a fair question. How'd our offense look without Brady?
O deserves a bump, sure. But let's not pretend he is the sole reason for this turnaround. inb4youactlikei'mnotgivingOanycreditforgettingbrady
O deserves all the credit for identifying the greatness in Brady and getting him, but O would be the first person to tell yo that his staff shares responsibility for the success this year.
Your quick little downvote shows just how unreasonable you are
