Wuerrfel and his fade passes were deadly. Reidel Anthony and Ike Hilliard ate up our corners. So sad to see a Hilliard score TDs on the beloved Tigers.
And btw the yunguns who were in grade school or not even in existence in 1996 make you feel old? I was already four years out of school at the time. Talking about games played in the 80's and 90's seem surreal now LOL!

It got so bad that Brock Berlin threw a td pass. Grossman could sling it though. His accuracy and the timing of that passing attack was impressive.

I upvoted.
It’s a legit question.
I was at Mr Gatti’s in Denham Springs watching that game on their big screen, which is where we watched the awesome 19-15 win over Auburn a few weeks earlier.
I felt terrible. I felt like we blew an opportunity to prove we belonged on the national stage.
The worst part was when Florida players told LSU players “See you in Atlanta” inferring how bad the SEC West sucked that the same team they just beat by 43 would represent the West in Atlanta.
Besides this game and the Alabama game, the 1996 season was awesome.
The Houston comeback
The Barnburner
We beat New Mexico State 63-7
The Vandy shutout
The Kentucky rout
The Mississippi State monsoon game
The Ole Miss blowout game that TigerVision blocked even though I paid the 34.95 and had a big fight with TCI Cable Company
The hard fought win over Arky
The 10-7 win over Clemson

Straw man argument, I never said they were world beaters. And you’re saying a power 5 LSU team that tied for the SEC West, beat 13th ranked Auburn on the road and started ranked 19 then finished 12th was not only overrated but no better than a mid Major with the same record. You don’t know what you’re talking about and you keep talking from both sides of your mouth. In the same sentence you say you’re not criticizing that team then you’ll call them overrated, Paper Tigers and worse than a mid major. You’re really really bad at this.

I was sitting in the North End Zone for (I think) the 1993 game- we were demolished 58-3. After UF’s last td in the North End, the extra point was kicked into the seats. The UF manager waved to the crowd for the ball, but whoever caught it, turned and threw it further up into the North end. Another throw got it to the last row, he he threw it out of the stadium. Loudest cheer we had that day.

Being at this game was so much fun. Kevin Faulk just decided we would win after being down 34-14, and you saw it coming like it was a run in a basketball game.

My bad, was in the 50s and drizzling, not 49 degrees.
58 degrees at 2pm
.31 inches of precip for the day
BR weather for 10/6/01
Trust me, it was utterly miserable that day in shorts and a tshirt. It sticks with me.
Damn you global warming. Now our early October games are in the mid 90s.
