Welcome to the Rant! LSU has 2 definite wins on their schedule... McNeese St. and ULM. 2 likely losses...Alabama and Florida...All other games could go either way. Most of the teams we match up talent wise but QB play, coaching adjustments, and playcalling can easily contribute to an LSU loss against quality opponents such as WVU. I'll give us home field advantage and a Defense that is really clicking right now for this one. No way the spread should be more than 3 in favor of LSU. I don't bet on LSU (especially against them) but I would take a long look at the 8.5 if I were neutral and betting on this one.
Thanks for the welcome. Like you, I never bet against my team. I don't want to root against my money. When we are favored, I usually resist betting on us to cover. Now, as a dog, I've won more than I've lost, over the years. That said, I kinda like the +8.5, but I wouldn't bet the house, for sure. It may not be nearly enough.

Thanks for the kid reference. I wish. But internet smacks are pretty harmless.

CBS, good to have you
now, on topic: the award nominations include players from various conferences, many of them way low on the food chain. Citing this does NOT lend validity to your argument. I have watched 2 of your games with keen interest and can tell you that your oline is in a lot of trouble and the no-huddle is the only thing saving them from a total arse-raping.
Your defense is not the football version of the Rubik's Cube nor is it any secret. It was diagnosed by the Thundering Turds and I am quite confident that, despite popular negapinion, Les/Crowton can as well. We have faired well versus the 3-man front the defensive guru in Tuscaloosa uses with much higher caliber talent, so I believe we'll be ok.
The late game will help your guys out temperaturewise, but I do expect the cramp bug to bite a couple 'eers. BUT, it only gives us natives an extra hour to marinate......that is a big deal. You will see. And, no. Watching us on TV does not qualify you as a witness to Death Valley.
Devine was actually close to coming to LSU and was a coveted recruit by most SEC powerhouses.....he is a very special player.
Your QB is growing quickly and nicely. Saturday he will grow......in wisdom. He will be under pressure and/or on his back more than any of you can imagine. Our front seven is on pace to be more dominating as a unit than the 2003 defense. Really.
LSU's bed post notches this year are far superior to Coastal who?, aforementioned Turds, and the Tubby-led Terrible Turtles.
Do the 'eers have a chance? Sure they do! But, a certain loud-mouthed mountain bunch learned a very valuable lesson in 2008 and this team is quantum leaps better. Understand this, the Cinderella stories are the RARE exceptions and you will find out what the RULE is on Saturday night......in Death Valley.
BUT, most want you to enjoy your time down here and know that you are all truly welcome.

Hell dude, if everyone waited for the outcome before posting, what fun would that be? Only winners would show up, for a circle jerk.
All I posted was some clarification of some misconceptions SOME of your fans (you likely included) have about the vast disparity in the talent level of the two teams. Can you address any of those?

CBS, all one has to do is look at the recruiting class rankings for a simple litmus test. Worlds apart.
Granted, our defensive leader and likely All-American was only a 3-star........Kelvin Sheppard.

OK, so I gave you a free tutorial in how to use the advanced techniques unique to this best-in-class website, and you continue to just type in the material you want to quote. May I refer you to your post above regarding being edumacated? Or shall I.....
I'm trying. It says [quote] in my preview. Calm down.

One other piece of advice. Don't get into an e-pissing contest with a bunch of 15-year olds. They aren't mature enough to recognize when they're wrong.
Advice taken. Thanks.

You do understand 'mean temperature', right?
Yeah, your average high is cooler than our low. At kickoff Saturday night it will be in the 80s.

What idiot said Noel Divine would be an average SEC back? Noel would be starting for us, easy. LSU has it's share of moron fans. And apparently most of them post here on the Rant. Enjoy the game.
It was a few of them, in a LONNNNNNGGGG thread, titled 'Tell me why LSU beats WVU'. But, ya know if LSU pretty much shuts him down, it will feed their beliefs, and it's possible that can happen. I agree with some of your other posters, that many of them are skipping middle school today.

Here's a reading from September 5th
Yeah, that means the whole month was like that. It is Fall, and it does get a bit chilly here sometimes. That said, it's been the hottest Sep in a long time.

Then it was taken the wrong way. The "edumacated" reference was taken by some to mean illiterate, when in fact, you were talking about being versed on your team. Cheers.
You got it. And cheers right back atcha.

Y'all have had 2 days at 91. The rest have been in the 70's or 80's with > 60% humidity. Oh the HORROR!!

Devine will play at the next level and would have seen ample playing time had he come to LSU. Along with many others I was dissappointed when it did not work out for him to come to B.R. He is outstanding and it will be interesting to see how a very young defense adapts to the best back they will face this side of 'Bama. Good luck after this week.
