Many thanks to everyone for coming! The Dallas and Fort Worth Alumni appreciates everyone showing up, donations, etc. That's what helps us raise money for scholarships to send more kids to school.

We asked them to be ready for us. For us, this was a lesson learned for the Oregon game. There will be less corporates and more fans there, so we want to learn from things to make a better time for everyone.

Thanks again for the good words!

I always avoid any place that says it is hosting a pre-game party for LSU fans on the road. They are NEVER prepared for the crowd that shows and it always ends up in a cluster.

We also went to Humperdink's, parked, and ended up walking to 3rd Base Bar, not necessarily because of the wait at Humperdink's, but more because of the difficulty getting a drink and not being able to take the drinks outside the restaurant.

I attempted to get a beer at the bar and had two security guys tell me I couldn't stand where I was...which was at the bar. Not sure how or where drinks were being served, but it was too much of a headache.

We gave our name to the hostess, who said the wait was an hour and a half, at 11:45 A.M. She called me to tell me our table was ready at 2:09 P.M.

3rd Base Bar was...interesting, to say the least, but it wasn't crowded, we were seated immediately, and they served us beer within minutes.

I have faith that Dallas will be ready for LSU by September.

This happens everywhere Tiger fans go. The bar is told to expect a flood of people that drink more than the average patron and they think they are prepared, but they are not.

I live in DFW and had a friend going to NOLA for a weekend and planned to hang out with the bar crowd.. I warned her that in Louisiana I'm considered a lightweight. Having seen me put away the booze, she assumed I was just trying to scare her. When she got back I got a text that said, "OMG! In New Orleans you ARE a lightweight." Apparently she wasn't expecting to drink for 48 straight hours.

It was a huge debacle. There was no parking at Humperdinks, there were 2 long lines 1to get in the restaurant and 1 for shuttle tickets, even if you pre booked. It was about like trying to get free rolling stones tickets. I don't blame the Alumni Association because I am sure they are good folks and there Tiger fans right? But it was run about as good as a Les Miles 2 minute Offense. People were parking on the grass and some guy was saying there coming to tow you......

People don't understand LSU fans roll deep!

Having had to organize events for other organizations, all I have to say is, "Thank You!" I enjoyed it both before and after the game. It was a tough thing to pull together, but I contri buted to the Tarrant Tigers and plan to add my name to the list of volunteers to organize for Oregon.

I'll also add this: I added a whole bunch of new Tiger friends to my phone there and at the game. As a transplant to Texas, its always great to see "my kind of people"!
