The better question is, where should I have the huge arse party next week with all of yalls money. We're up to 30k right now, right? Our tailgate for Troy is going to be kick-arse!
Unless this storm speeds up (which don't get me wrong could very well happen), LSU-Appy State is going down Saturday ... If the storm does make a Louisiana landfall on Monday or Tuesday, I feel pretty confident the Troy game would be cancelled and/or moved to one of our off weeks, though, due to the aftermath in B.R. and all that's associated with that.

LSU vs App State, Saturday.
Bet you $10,000 game is played Saturday in Baton Rouge, no matter if/when contraflow goes into affect.
with everything that happened during katrina and the political ramifications for jindal you are a fricking idiot if you think this game is going to happen while NOLA is under an evacuation

I believe it was Opal, but i remember we had a hurricane headed for NO, but rurned north befor it got there. But there was an LSU game that night and contraflow stoped at Highland Rd on I-10. I know this because i had to take the back roads back to my home in Ascension at the time. Got home well after midnight.
Another item of note parish presidents can call for evacuations before the gov. I remember the first storm that hit NO (was a tropical storm, lated upgraded to huricane) that Jefferson Parish Pres, Broussard, pre-empted the lower parishes and ordered evacuations.
You need to remember everyone is gun shy. No one wants to be Blanco-ed.....
And as much as i love LSU, i could give a shite if the game is played or not, just pray this thing stays away from Louisiana period....

MIAMI (AP) -- Forecasters say Gustav has weakened to a tropical storm over Haiti.
The National Hurricane Center says the storm's maximum sustained winds dropped from hurricane-strength to 70 mph late Tuesday. But the storm's expected to get stronger later this week.
The center says the storm could become a Category 2 hurricane Thursday, with winds of 96 mph or higher, on its expected path between Cuba and Jamaica.
At 11 p.m. EDT, the storm's center was about 85 miles west of Port au Prince, Haiti. The storm was moving west-northwest near 8 mph.

The Weather Channel's hurricane expert said earlier in the day that the weaker Gustav was, the more likely it would heavily tend west towards Mexico. Hopefully it throws it off enough to avoid us and not just enough to give us the eastern side of the storm.

I do think it is a possibility the game is moved up to 1100 am though.
That would make the most sense...what would ESPN have to say?
* Since I am on the RANT, I will speak about this towards the LSU angle.

Mudminnow....I am out in Oregon this week and coming home Friday night for the LSU game. Those potential tracks are scary. Just watched TWC and their "cone of probability" and it also places LA right in the middle of a potential track.

THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THIS DAMNABLE THING IS GONNA DO
After Katrina, expect a three-day caution for New Orleans if the track / model holds.
THE BAD NEWS
It's now taking a west turn and heading into the "slot" ... so you can likely scratch out those "cut north thru Cuba" tracks ...
Still, the westerly movement is no certainty that it will get into the Gulf. Mexico & Belize could get clobbered again.
I've got a very nice Condo on San Francisco Beach that has been hit many times by storms taking this track.
My gut feeling on this one is just south of Yucatan right below Cozumel
And ... it can still get into the Gulf after that, but most of the sting will be gone.

oh damn... that shite looks to be coming right up our pee-hole. frick. Here we go again. At this point I could give a shite whether we play this weekend. I would gladly wait a week for football to start than take direct hit from this thing.

So it look like this really sucks and once again we are going to get effed...

definitely feeling more stress now that those projections are reaching a little bit of a consensus. What did we do to deserve this shite? Seriously, this is the very last fricking thing we need right now... Mexico or Tejas could use a good rain shower, not us.
