Coaching up Jefferson is like putting icing on a turd and calling it a cake. It's still a turd no matter what you do to it. But if you like eating turds, then good luck finding someone else.

And yes, Lee was talented out of high school. So was Brock Berlin. High school isn't college. Do a better job evaluating not only talent but also intelligence. Neither of these qualities is found under the helmet of #9. Miles could have hired a real QB coach if he thought there was an issue.

If Crowton stays, when Mettenberger gets here, you'll watch him regress and weep. Believe it.

I'm tired of hearing this shite about JJ.

No matter what you think about Jefferson, he has been a far better QB than Crowton has been an OC.

Haven't heard that one in a while. The force is strong with this one.

So Jefferson's regression is due to being dumb . .

But Lee's regression is due to something else . . .

That is like the pot calling the kettle black. It just makes no sense. JJ will never be a good or even descent sec qb. You could let Olivia Manning give birth to him and he would still suck! Its just that plain and simple. Put it in your pocket and smoke it!

These arguments would hold water if not for all the evidence showing that Crowton has done this before. He has NEVER been able to develop a QB and every team he has coached has regressed in offensive production. He has to GO.

JJ's been inaccurate at times throwing the ball.

But as a QB overall -- he gives effort and makes plays despite the lack of coaching. I'll take the Alabama win.

But calling the guy a turd, really?

I think we need to change the $900,000 "icing" is the problem.

A few years ago you would have been on the front lines calling Dennis Dixon a terrible QB who could never make a decent PAC-10 QB.

What did Dixon do the NEXT year after Crowton left?

Almost win the Heisman.

I voted in the TD poll to replace Crowton because we just went thru our 3rd year with QB problems. I do believe Crowton can run a great offense if he has the talent in place. But it is also his job to get the talent in place and not have the same problems for 3 years straight. If we get this corrected this year I believe we can have a great offense with Crowton as OC.

Crowton has not done the job. Lee is still suspect, although you can argue that he wasn't given a fair shot this year. But to argue that JJ is anything but a disappointment to this point is nonsense, and those doing so know it. So what is their problem?

In 2007 he had Flynn/RP at QB and a solid offensive line. Our offense was awesome. Since then he has had Hatch, Lee, and Jefferson. None of which belong in the SEC. I don't think there is a coordinator in the country who could do better with the crap we have had to work with. If anyone is to blame, it's Miles for allowing this to happen. If Mettenberger comes, I predict a much improved offense. If not, it will be the same thing next year. If you fire Crowton now, fine, but who do you think can magically make our QBs play better than they have?

Matt Flynn was a FIFTH YEAR SENIOR, developed by Jimbo and crew. Crowton, the QBs coach, has had three years to develop highly talented prospects and has completely failed. IMO.

Not really

Here's a question:

Do slow grinding running plays belong in a two minute drill that take 1:30 off the clock?

I agree!! The one game JJ was throwing like a real Sec Quaterback Crowton called an awesome game. Hard to call a lot of plays when you don't have a qtrback.!
