Our purple jerseys are so clean. Please wear them Saturday because we know there might only be one other opportunity given the tradition. But I wish we wore purples more. We have another jersey for a reason

It's odd that all of the stigma and reputation associated with a "curse" and bad luck lie with one LSU uniform kit only; gold helmets, purple jerseys and gold pants for the football team. There's no resistance to wearing purples for either the men's or women's basketball teams, or for baseball. Just football, and the bad reputation for purples started back in Cholly Mac's time as LSU coach.

purple is worn for the second non conference (assuming that the first is a non conference home opener) home game and for homecoming.
