The competition has become more intense for NC St. The only game that was out of character was their shocking upset to Notre Dame on Saturday

This year's Duke has become a bashi-bazouk late in the regular season, rolling roughshod over ACC competition and even beating #1 Michigan! Their coach Scheyer is auditioning gamely to out-Shishefsky the great Mike Shishefsky

Thanks Cheer! :cheers::lsu:
He sucked in the McNeese game, which started this teams funk. Tonight is just a fiasco from the getgo. Umpire Ray Gregson needs a shot of chloral hydrate to the face-- thanks to Paz's first WP.

I have never seen an LSU team play this bad-- do they have anything left for ULaf?

Sheesh. A couple more games like tonight and I'll follow exclusively my hometown college team-- who's playing a LOT better than these Tigers

This guy Theophilus is for real! Long relief-- you'll be hearing about him going forward

U-G-L-Y. This isn't a respected opponent we're playing tonight; there are at least 4 colleges in Boston more highly regarded for their baseball teams. JJ and the Tigers need to meditate on this after tonight's game.

This team gives me the willies. I sure hope that straighten out the bats before conference play
I think we're going to fire McMahon regardless, save the very unlikely event (though not impossible) we win the SEC Tourney and make the NCAAs. Not sure if success in a NIT tourney will save him.

As for an NIT, I'm an LSU basketball fan and enjoy the competition, and at least an opportunity to win something of value. Moar hoops, please.
So if we win just one of our three remaining games we'll have a "beak-even" record-- 16-16-- I'm in. That just seems so much better than another losing campaign.

LSU making it to a "postseason" tournament

LSU was offered the NIT last year which I felt they wisely declined, due to players opting out even before the end of the regular season. I think the situation this year is a little different. I don't see the team declining this year if offered the chance to burnish their postseason credentials.
Why is Oklahoma ready to fire their coach and LSU isn't? Oklahoma looked pretty good in the PMAC Saturday night; their opponent, not so much.
You pick your poison if we make it to the Elite Eight. Who would prefer in a regional final: Texas, SC or UCLA? I'm not convinced that UConn is more "unbeatable" that the other teams.
The sparse, even sometimes hostile home crowds are sort of a negative energy for the team. That's why lately the team has actually performed better on the road
Why is LSU still comparatively high (58 Kenpom, 70 NET), when they have consistently played worse than any other team in the league?
Exactly. Tiger Rag has, for at least the last 20 years, been a clickbait rag of sensationalist, misleading tableau journalism which no longer has interesting features on the actual sporting events or the players.

Did you know you can still get a paper copy of your Tiger Rag through subscriptions? I didn't believe it, until I saw a guy at my local sports bar reading it! I canceled my subscription back in June 1996-- the week after Warren Morris's world-famous walk off blast.
