We were 7-0. No one stopped us. Then we played Bama. They stopped us. So Miles changed gear, flipped the script, did exactly what you suggest. And Brandon Harris failed miserably. Rolling out to the right, his favorable direction, he threw a little dink pass to a wide open receiver. Only he threw it horribly and it was intercepted.

Now Miles gets to listen to morons telling him he should do EXACTLY what he did. Listen, there's plenty of reason to criticize Miles, but most of you are just too stupid to know what they are.

These guys think you can just put in a Chip Kelly spread with anyone at QB and it will work in the SEC consistently

When Miles realized LF7 was going nowhere , look what he did the 2nd quarter. We beat the pants off Bama for 8mins.

And of course BH mucked it up the start of the 3rd

It truly boils down to execution. Even when the right plays were called execution was not there.

I do agree that we need to use the cupcake games to work on some of the things that we will need to implement and run effectively later in the season

Yes, he needs to have a Plan B when Plan A doesn't work. I love Plan A when it works. There is nothing like running rough shod over the other team.

Theres alot of truth to this. At the time LSU was 7-0 and bama had 1 loss. What coach is going to change who they are when theyre ranked 2nd in the country and seem to be ready. You arm chair guys are ridiculous.
Michigan state had an entire month to put in a "rent a win" game plan or two or three. They even had a senior NFL QB with alot of starts under his belt and were on a neutral field. They also had an entire season of film on Bama. 38-0. Should their fans demand a coaching change? How "stupid" is that coach. Their plan worked to perfection against Ohio State with the back up QB for goodness sakes. i guess u clowns think Clemson should have 2-3 game plans just in case as well huh? Same with Bama should they change who they are and have a plan b and c just in case ? Last year against Ohio State they got rolled with a month to prepare; because they are poorly coached?
Even in the pros some Super Bowls are complete blowouts. The game is won or loss by how well your players do with their individual match ups that day. Theres no magic tricks or Internet; its your guys against their guys.
Lets look at urban meyer. Has there been a more talented and proven team in recent memory than the2015 ohio state team ? Everyone back and he finishes 3rd in the weak big 10. What happened to meyer. ohio state was completely loaded at every position and he stiill couldn't beat mich st. with their back up QB at home.

It's pretty simple really. Until we get more consistent play out of the QB and a passing scheme that allows the QB to get into an early rhythm, we're going to struggle against any team we play that can slow down our run game. Look at what the Hogs do with play action passing and mid range passes to the TE. Can we not get a QB who can make those reads at the LOS and those throws?

Don't let facts of cfb get in the way of shitting on lsu's staff.

That'a where coaching comes in. Spring, Fall camp, rent-a-wins. Sometimes you have to work on those things in the ball games, and even if they aren't executed perfectly, you create a bit of uncertainty in your opponent as to what you may do. Because we fail to do this, our offense is completely predictable and teams know that when the pressure spots arise, Les Miles is going to line up in the I formation and hand the ball off to the tailback.

I guess you missed the bama game. We tried throwing the ball and couldn't execute. There are no game plans that work with your oline getting pushed 2 yards behind the LOS every play. None.

We couldn't execute the toss dive but we kept ramming into that brick wall anyway.

This is the entire point. You can't play 7 games passing the ball onlyl 17-20 times a game and then expect to be able to magically snap your fingers and pass the ball up and down the field against good football teams.

That's BS. Coaches gameplan for specific teams all the time. Even highschool teams do it. Are you serious?

Of course he is serious. He understands the game of football.
Putting in a game plan is 95% trying to exploit individual matchups and tendacies. But the other coach is doing the same exact thing. When their guys are better than your guys especially up front. U can game plan your life away and still get beat 38-0. Dantonio is not a bad coach because of that game.

Right. So for sake of speculation, wouldn't the game have gone more smoothly if he was? We were gaining momentum before the half; anything could be different.

You make a good point.

Les' philosophy revolves around emposing your will and forcing it on the other team.

It is about playing to your strength rather than against their weaknesses. And to some extend almost all teams do this.

IF we can get the passing game to catch up we will throw it more, but right now it isn't a strength. I think an year older Harris will move it in the right direction.
