I'd rather see the tourn they use to play in the superdome come back to life.

Due to the renovations they're doing in the plaza the dome will no longer have the ability to host baseball.

Going to the Busch challenge/Winn Dixie showdown, is one of my fondest memories growing up. My dad and I would go as soon as I got off of school on Friday, and we would stay every night until the last pitch. One of those things a teenage kid and his dad can bond over.

i completely agree. i was a freshman in high school during the miami/uf/fsu series and that was awesome. i wish it was still around to take my son to them as well.

frick Minute Maid Park

worst baseball environment ever conceived....frankly, nothing more than a shopping mall/sports bar with a diamond attached to it.

stale air,
stale beer,
stale baseball.

very representative of houston culture, politics and philosophy. I'd rather be in Yankee Stadium in a chill sept drizzle while being waterboarded than forced to watch what they brazenly call mlb in minute maid...."exron field."
JMHO!

I don't know about that. Sure, given the choice I'd rather be at Fenway watching a game. I would rather have the Astros set up over Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

The only reason you think that Minute Maid Park is a joke is becuase the stros have been pretty bad the last 3 years. But in 06' when we made our world series run the place was rockin and sold out and a great atmosphere for baseball. Now i will say that that i would much rather go to fenway, wrigley, etc. because those are the places that are built with baseball history. These days the stros are praying that they get 10K in seats when the stadium holds roughly 43K or somewhere around there. Times are tough right now for Astros baseball and no one wants to pay to see shite. It's exactly like LSU basketball. They are terrible this year and bearly anybody goes to see them play. That doesnt mean the PMAC is a terrible facility. Minute Maid park isnt a bad stadium. JMHO!

ETA: You must be a Rangers fan. Right?

Astros suck bigtime. They rode Bags and the Biggio way too long. MLB sucks cause the Haves make it to the playoffs and the havenots don't have any kind of prayer to even sniff the WS. The Astros are going to suck bigtime for another 3 years at least...what a shame. Gotta put up some serious cash man.

Just out of curiosity, does anybody know when they stop collecting tickets at the Box and you can just walk into the stadium? I will be at the track meet next Friday and will miss most of the baseball game against Princeton......just wanted to catch the last few innings of the game just to see the stadium at night.

I would love for LSU to make a trip to play Fullerton. And before anyone says it, yes I know that LSU is LSU and that they don't need to travel to California. I just think a good OOC series away from the box would be good preparation for SEC play.

Maybe we already do...

It was nice though when the Tigers came over here a few times (around 2002-04)and played Houston. It would be great if they would come every once in a while and play in the College Classic.
