I'm glad that was Lee's bad game because it didn't cost us ANYTHING. We definitely need his arm against Arky.

He should be able to. Alabama's defense would make Andrew Luck look bad. I can't think of one college quarterback that I feel like would have a strong performance against their defense.

To the posters saying we need Lee for the arky game, may I ask why?

A JJ led offense just doesn't score a lot of points. Most of the time.

We will need to score to beat arky imo

Because we can run between the tackles on Arky, and he is the better downfield passing option off play action.

i think common belief is that the game will be relatively fast-paced and high scoring in a sense? Arkansas will put up points, and we need to be able to answer quickly if we fall behind. Now, if we can get the lead and stop their passing attack, then Lee isn't as needed, but I think if we want to run a basic offense that utilizes both pass and run we need Lee in the game.

I'm sure he will.

Lee's played very well this year. Better than I thought he would. However, he hasn't been perfect and for many parts of the season the football gods were shining down on him and he was being repaid some football karma for the past three seasons. Before Saturday, he had floated some balls, hit some defenders, made some bad reads, or simply thrown some bad balls. Not a ton, but enough to have hurt had they been capitalized on when they happened. Thankfully the D's we have played up until then were unable to take advantage of those mistakes when they happened and Lee has made them pay for it.

BAMA didn't miss those opportunities when he gave them to them. They are the best D LSU will face all year. Hell...probably in the next handful of years.

He'll be fine, he's gone through worse and he'll play a huge role from here on out. He'll likely start Saturday, put up some nice numbers and completely put it behind him.

Good post.

Yes. not necessarily in the way where both are sharing drives, for packages, etc. But exactly in the way Miles used them Saturday.

When one is struggling, put the other guy in. Just like any other position. We have depth at QB, and that probably won us the game (among other factors of course).

He should be fine.

Tough matchup. Put it in the past.

This is one of those situations where Miles' coaching style - laid back, father-like relationship with players - will really help. Lee will shake this off. Les will make damn sure Lee knows he has Les' full confidence. I'd like to see what Luck would do against that D. Very tough going for any QB.

I am speculating here, but am I the only person that wondered if Lee was just not completely focused after that late hit by Upshaw? Seemed like he was just woozy every time they showed him on the sideline. Just wondering.

Regardless if he was or not, it was definitely in his head that he was gonna get smacked everytime he threw the ball.

I will eat some crow here and say how thankful I am that JJ was in the game, cuz Lee looked horrible. I thought he would keep it together better than that.

Ya ! The key to beat BAMA , Get you a guy that no one thinks should be on your team and put him in at QB !!

But if we need Lee why is it said that our defense and special teams wins games? Does it really matter if Lee or JJ is in? Especially when we only pass the ball like 20 times a game.

I agree 100% that Les's coaching style is nothing but an asset in this situation.

Hopefully Stanford beats Oregon this weekend and and runs the table to meet us in New Orleans for the BCSC. I would love to see the pine tree offense match up against our D.

It sure looked like he was scared of getting hit. He was throwing the ball without even looking just to get it our of his hands.
