in 2007 when lsu started the season ranked #1 and beat msu 45-0 and the team was criticized for not being "dominant" I stopped paying attention.

Any time you attack any part of the LSU program it is affecting those kids and also the kids that are thinking of coming to this school. Sure like I said Coach made mistakes but none more than what Saban did this week at USCe and what Meyers did against LSU. It has happened all over College football this year. If you keep up with College football you would see those same mistakes.
The only difference is that Miles is the head Coach of 2 time National champion and they choose to take the pot shots at LSU even though directed at Miles.
I feel that ESPN's job is to report about the game not make fun of any part of the schoolthey are reporting on. They are not a comedy act they are a sports reporting program and there is nothing there that gives ESPN the right to make fun and down right redicule LSU whatsoever! JMHO!

CaseyMe take a page out of Jarrett Lee's handbook and handle this situation with class. Don't worry about what everybody says about LSU. Stop getting your feelings hurt. Let it go. Take a page from one of our team leaders JLee and rise above the criticism.

I don't have a link, it was pretty damn funny though, and if we had lost last night, everyone including the OP would have had no problems with it.

That's all you need to silence the critics. That said, Miles deserved all he got after the Tennessee game. From now on, all the insults will just be added motivation.

I would send ESPN a letter thanking them for doing it, then ask if they could do it again the weeks of AU, Bama, and Arky.
I'll agree with you.

It is alright for everyone to say because of all the negative crap on the ESPN networks we don't care if GameDay comes or not and some even said that if they came they would be for boycotting it. Now there is a chance or even just a mention of acting out about it before they do decide to come here, as a matter of fact there was even one who created a thread about it, chooses to attack me for actually doing something about it.
No I am not a kid but, Yes I am an LSU fan and have been all my life and would never do anything to hurt or disgrace this University. I have griped and complained about our Coach and some of the things he has done but, I would never boo at a game or openly pull against this Tame to loose so we can get another Caoch.
Yet all of you on here that chooses to attack me about just the thought of acting out about a Network that openly attacks this University for some reason I should be out of mind to even think that the individuals would support an undertaking such as this. I mean they did after all yell for and openly said in some threads over the last month or so that they want LSU to loose so that Miles would get fired. Now, you tell me why someone such as myself would even think about asking those same individuals to support and act out about it?
Rant? I am sorry for asking you for your thoughts of doing anything good and respectful for our University. We are the Rant and we do not do such good things on here just bad things because, after all that is why we are the Rant. Right? It is above our dignaty to do such things what was I thinking? Sorry it want happen again will you please forgive me?
Good Night Everyone and God Bless!
P.S. "God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I can not change, The Courage to change the things I can and the Wisdom to know the difference." Amen! and Amen!

This. I also appreciated Herbstreit's motivational assistance for the SEC Champ game against TN when he insisted that Miles was going to MI.

When a guy who makes 3.7million/yr does his job badly, cheap shots are in order.
I'm on no huge Miles bandwagon. He didn't do anything incredible Saturday: he just did his job. No apology is in order.

i know everyone likes to say espn hates lsu but sunday morning some espn analyst said something along the lines of "we dont like it but lsu is good and a top 10 team". really? just was really douchey. especially after all the shite they were talking before the game. demanding an apology would be pretty weak though.
i agree with the others though. winning is best retaliation

Then by now you should know that is not going to happen. I had a job where the press would be all over me for anything. I learned a long time ago that the press has more ink, paper, and airtime than Icould ever muster. There is certainly more negativity on this board than there ever was on ESPN. Besides, that's their job. They report the unusual and get debate going. It sells.
Let's try this approach. Living well is the best revenge. With each successive victory Miles looks better and better, and all these genius coaches out there are losing to him. What does that say about them? Blow it off and let it go!!! The American public (except for this board) has a collective memory of about four months. Trust me, a non-issue.

quote:i think miles should have apologized after another clock management blunder on national tv, instead of calling bs on his team, when he screwed up again
I think Alleva should back his team up by demanding an apology from ESPN and all of those individuals that did what they did on National TV for all to see.

AMEN! Less obviously only responds to negative reinforcement.
