In addition to a variety of ways to serve duck, straight up fried, broiled, roasted, etc., you can incorporate Duck into a sauce picante, gumbo, jamabalaya - just a number of traditional Louisiana cajun or creole dishes. Also, duck is a necessary ingredient to turducken, which is almost always served as an entree.

Beastfense - it's good to see there are a few logical Tigers out there. Arkansas is why so many people resent the SEC. They are a nice team, but Stanford and USC would thump Ole Miss and Vanderbilt. There's no way Arkansas is a top 10 team (in my opinion - top 20 though)

Moneyg,

Do I think Oregon could beat 'Bama? Sure

Do I think Oregon is better than 'Bama? No.

Oregon is still transitioning from being an also-ran to to top program. There are only a couple D-1 players that come from our state, so there's obviously huge challenges. Until we can recruit better in the trenches, we are who we are. We always will have to convince a kid to leave their area and come to the great NW.

However, Oregon and most of the Pac-12 doesn't run and hide from playing anyone, anywhere. That's what I don't get about the SEC. Why won't they come west...Florida? S.C.? Arkansas? Georgia? 'Bama? etc. If they are so great as we are told ad nauseum, then what's the problem?

LOL....as much as I hate R-kansas...they would beat Stanford by 14.

bullshite. I watched Arky barely pull one out of their arse against A&M. The SEC is Alabama and LSU and then there is a dropoff and everyone else is like the rest of the country.

These things you need to know about Dux Fans:
1. Always have an excuse. Hello Duckies--if we wouldn't have dropped all of those passes we would have pinned 50+ instead of 40
2. Beat Smurf State before you even think about beating a GOOD SEC team
3. My dog is a duck fan and wears your logo--found right under his tail
4. Go bury your heads in in your Eugene Soup Bowl. You have no class unless you're on the road and outnumbered.

and I got NO problem saying LSU beat our butts. Turnovers and penalties are mostly a result of what the opponent's D is doing or the pressure they are causing

props to you for admitting it.

I'm an LSU fan and I have NO problem saying that if the tables were turned and Jordan Jefferson had started that game, then the results would have without a doubt been different. Absolutely zero chance of LSU putting up 40 points against Oregon with a Jordan Jefferson led offense. he would have turned the ball over at least twice in that game.

Why should Alabama sit at home, resting while LSU is facing a much improved UGA team in Atlanta, only for Bama to be given a shot at evening the season series with LSU? It essentially punishes LSU for winning the first game against Bama. Alabama lost. They are out, barring an LSU loss.

This is the smartest thing that I have heard all day...

Based on what? The LSU game? Or running up the score on the Pathetic-12?

It was 30-13 at the end of the 3rd and 40-27 at the end of the game. Where does that fall out in reference to the SEC?

One game against LSU and both starting Rbs were sitting on the bench with injuries. What would their team look like if they had to play in the SEC every week?

I think they are the class of the Pac-12, and had they not faced LSU at the beginning of the year, I'm sure they would be a virtual lock for the MNC game. However, they did play, and we know better.

Who have they beat out of conference this year (besides LSU...you guys and Tennessee are the only two teams that don't fatten up on at least 3-4 cream puffs every year - much respect)

Bama - Penn St.(W)
LSU - WVU, Oregon (W,W)
Arkansas - Texas A&M (W)
Florida - Florida St.(TBD)
South Carolina - Clemson (TBD)
Georgia - Boise, Georgia Tech (L,TBD)
Auburn - Clemson (L)

I see your point, but it appears to me that the SEC plays enough out-of-conference opponents to assert some dominance.

Also, why would any SEC team besides the top teams want to schedule difficult OOC games when most every year each team will face 4-5 ranked in-conference opponents? It makes a lot more sense for weaker conferences such as the Pac-12, Big Ten, ACC, Big East (Big 12 is an exception this year I would say) to try and schedule tougher OOC games because they usually don't get good strengths of schedule from in-conference opponents.

Does the SEC really need to prove that it is the best conference during the regular season after proving it so consistently at the end of the season (BCSNCG) for the last decade or so?

quote of The Thread. Oregon may have gotten better, but how much better compared to a 40-27 win for an LSU team who has definitely also progressed. Oregons acting like LSU is still on first game level. well, thats been well exceeded. take a look at our schedule for a visual aid

God I'm rooting for Oky State just so everyone we've beaten will quit trying to convince us why they should play us again instead of another team.

It doesn't matter folks, the Superdome will be filled with purple and gold!

Arky would beat Stanford by 20. Stanford's best win is a weak, suspended USC team and they barely scraped by that one.
