first of all, i cant stand duke, but since its a sporting event that people actually give a damn about, i think its a little less douchey.
but a group of adults that make fun of a right fielder playing college baseball?
damn man, get a life...

ETA: And fyi to everyone. Coon's Corner is not the whole student section. Most of the shite yall talking bout comes from the unfunny people near the bottom of the section.
This .. Saturdays game i heard nothing but the bottom section guys and 1 time from the top .. The bottom section guys were hitting it pretty good there for a while .. Da Corner was cheering for the good guys

Coon's Corner almost made LSU decide to bulldoze Alex Box Stadium during the 08 Super Regional they were so rowdy. People were calling them embarrassments.
It wasn't the main guys in the corner doing it, though. It was the hundreds of front-running bandwagon students who hadn't been to a game their whole time in college filling up the section.
Good times.

I was just curious because my ticket was right in the top of Coon's Corner. I remember it being crazy a few a few years ago, but haven't been in that area of the stadium in a while.
I didn't think anyone was particularly douchey today FWIW

Don't worry Ed House will put Coon's Corner in order. Has he thrown anybody out yet?

I luckily got tickets in left field for free so I didnt have to wait for SRO tix. But there was this old douchebag with a bowlcut trying to heckle their left fielder for a couple innings. This dude was not funny AT ALL. trying to be funny making up shite in his head. I remember he said something about how he should wear his baseball pants up to his knees (like Alex Edward or Paul Bertuccini for example) because its more respectable. He gave up after NOBODY laughed at anything he said. Frickin attention whore

IMO it was the opposite.
It was the douchy "i'm not movin, im in coons corner and i dont care what your ticket says" attitude that pissed off most people in 08.

First of all, coon's corner has never been a "big deal".
Let me give you a quick synopsis of how coon's corner started and what it's evolved into today.
In 1998 we were freshmen and decided we wanted to name our area like the Left Field Lunatics, Bullpen Bullies, etc... and decided that Coon's Corner was the appropriate name. All of the core members were out of school by around 2003/2004 but many still lived in BR living the bachelor life. We continued to go to as many games as we could until people started getting hitched, started sprouting offspring, and moving away. Today only one of the semi-original members still lives in BR while everyone else is spread across Ascension, LP, Lafourche, Boston, Dallas, The Chuck, & Houston... As it were, a new wave of members started at LSU in the past two years and are continuing the tradition. Hopefully they can keep it up and have as much fun as we've had in the past.
Now on to the myth-buster part of this post. I'll just separate the facts from conjecture so far in this thread. You can make your own decision on how you feel about us but I can guarantee you, we don't care. We're just there to have fun.
meh, just tough to make every game recently, hopefully it pics up with the new guys. if not, it was fun while it lasted.
Again, never was a big deal. You know us enough to call us d-bags?
kinda. We sit at the top which is not technically the student section in the new stadium (the lower section is). We still try to get loud when needed and get into the heads of the opposing RF.
Haters gonna hate. I like that yall know none of us but we'd douches.
again, haters... so you can't cheer/heckle unless you're a 4 time all american all world superstar? there goes 99.99999999999% of all fan bases ever.
we agree with this 100%. And if one of our IDOIT (reference to old reville article during the 2000 sweet 16 run for you old timers, anyone remember this) members says something that's stupid, we'll bash them too. Don't be stupid.
we seem to have pissed in your cheerios. maybe you should just chillax and enjoy the game and the atmosphere in RF. if you're expecting to sit near a student section at lsu and not hear jeering, you're sadly mistaken.
right, and when they play along it's even better. Everyone's there to have a good time. The best ever was Mike Flowers from Ole Miss in ~2000.
this too. when they get mad the whole section gets into it.
exactly. someone understands.
sorry we don't share your sophisticated sense of humor. i promise we won't try to do better next time just for you.
agreed
hey, we respect that.
well, none of us are 45. Also, you see all ages of guys going bat shite crazy on the recruiting board. Socially acceptable? We're just having fun.
laughable.
We mostly did too. That's why the new guys do it. I just sit up there because it's fun.
correct.

Mixed feelings about it. You want to have a good atmosphere, but it's a bunch of douches who would never see their own HS baseball field telling this right fielder that he sucks.

It's the "hey look at me I'm a funny heckler guy" types that are fricking terrible. If you've got good bullshite then let it fly, but if your close friends are the only ones laughing then you're fricking annoying everyone. Sit back, shut up and enjoy the game. You don't have to say everything that comes to your head.

Still should be too old for that shite. I know in LF bleachers there was a couple really old guys the past couple years but they always brought the weak sauce so nobody cared.
so why do you care?

I don't have a problem with messing with the right fielder but they go to the game for that single purpose. Watch the game and shutup unless you actually have something to say. It's a few guys who have done it a while and then a bunch of clowns who think they're funny. I was a student when it got started and it never was like it is today. And they only show up if we are doing good.
Like I said, most of us don't live anywhere near LSU any more hence the apparent rarity of our attendance. If you don't like it, sit somewhere else.

at first i was like "WTF" then i was like "ok". The main problem recently is whenever ANYTHING bad happens in RF be it people yelling at pregnant ladies in wheel chairs or people leaving kegs and empty liquor bottles anywhere out there in that end of the stadium, we get blamed for it and it sucks. One thing from the beginning that we've ALWAYS done is NEVER curse or say anything profane. If you're in our area and you hear something like that, it 1000% ain't us. We have (or at least had) good relationships with LSU and the marshals in our area but recently (at least at the end of last season) mostly because of people that don't clean up after themselves (in the beer dept) or just flat out curse and yell at people from the stands (keep in mind that there's a playground right next to the last two sections).

I like how you make it sound like lots of people were mad. Apparently it was only you because the people that actually had the tickets in that area were happy to share with us and JOIN in the apparent DOUCHBAGGERY in turn making them apparent douche bags... THE HUMANITY!!! Except you. i'm sorry. i'll bring a Kleenex next time i'm there and give it to you to wipe your tears.

FWIW I meant no disrespect with the thread title.
I just remembered remembered the right field bleachers being the fun place in the stadium and wanted to know if the same people were still in there.

That's horseshite. We even went out of our way by putting Cocomo in a strategic location on the second to last row so the "little person" on the last row could get a clear view of the action during game 3.
