don't think so. He seems like a pretty tough kid, and he's a fighter. He has really handled the adversity quite well. He's a class act.
I agree with this assesment. The problem is he doesn't seem to learn from his mistakes. He's had a whole year to improve and we've seen none, zero, zilch improvement in his performance. He may be a tough, good kid, but is not improving and I'm not sure that Miles can afford to continue with him next year doing the same things over and over again. He seems to have the physical skills but not the mental ones.

Lee's first practice snaps of any significane came last spring

The OT throw against Bama was simply inexcusable.

was it also inexcusable when JR threw it on 4th and 9 against Arizona State?....JR's was a duck off his left foot into double coverage

at least if Lee's was incomplete, we could stil have theoretically kicked a fg

it did...they had high hopes for him based off his unproven ability. THEN, as time passed he proved more and more he wasn't progressing past Hatch or Lee and never earned PT and was goingto be redshirted. Should tell you something too.

Fact is, jefferson was given every opportunity to be the starting qb from day and got practice time accordingly

my friend who is a die hard florida state fan said that jarrett lee is LSU's version of FSU's "chris rix". (minus being a total a-hole, which chris was)

coaches loved him, but he never improved.

a couple plays a game he would make great throws, and get by on that. but still never improve.

it was, "oh he's a sophomore" and "oh he's just a junior"...

then when he was a senior, still doing the same shitty mistakes, that's when the fans REALLY turned on him.

i never said that. he practiced as much as a 4th string qb with zero chance of ever laying in a game practices. probably as much as tc mccartney practiced this year.

what part is funny?

you don't think he was given an opportunity to beat out lee or hatch in fall?

how is that deluded?

the coaching staff wanted to play JJ, which is why they did earlyon against Miss St

then, as he failed to progress, they came with with this season ending shoulder injury to redshirt him. It isn't like JJ earned his way to the field by beating out lee or hatch

NO

okay then.

if you just don't believe the pt he got in fall and all the reports from practice and the statements made by coaches and those in the press attending practice then we really can't continue a conversation about it

i mean, if you just chose not to believe what was said by everyone tracking fall practice we'll just have to move on

No JJ was not. If you truly believe that it was a 3 QB race then I don't know what to say.

then to say Lee got no significant reps in practice until last spring is also incorrect.

Going into his true freshmen year he was the back up and Miles stated many times we probably would be unable to RS him. Until RP got his shite together, returned to practice, and won back his #2 spot.

I attended 2 scrimmages where Lee got reps with both the first and 2nd team offense. so no he was not being prepared like any old "4th string qb"

but as the statistics will show, he has gotten worse and looks lifeless out there, still making the same mistakes, and doesn't look like he's learning just yet.

Jarrett Lee has gotten progressively worse out there because the further into the year he's gotten, the more of a pounding he's taken from our douche bag fan base. RS Freshman or True Freshman, no player lacking the experience of taking a pounding from our rabid fan base is going to handle it well. You want to know why Jordan Jefferson looked to cool and collected out there, IT'S BECAUSE TIGER FAN WANTED TO THINK THAT! If I remember correctly, most of you who are calling for Lee's head now are probably the same ones who were calling him "calm & collected" following the Auburn game. There's a reason I call that game "The Christening", because everyone wanted to think he was the future, after 1 significant game. And, I simply REFUSE to believe that Jefferson would've handled the exact same situation any better.

To quote a legendary rant...

You want to crown him, than crown his arse!

I though, will have none of it.

it was a 3qb race for 2 spots and JJ was given a legit shot to earn a partial spot in the offense, which is MILES AND MILES beyond what lee was given last year. was JJ competing for the starting role against App state, no probably not. But he was most definitely given a spot to compete for a rp/tebow/wildcat role. Basically a mix up package of some sort.

in 07 against Bama lee was passed over for hatch.....HATCH!

if i said no significant reps, maybe i should not have said none. i guess it was kinda of an exxaggeration to the fact that he got very little. it largely fails in comparison to what JJ has gotten in 08

Lee was making crappy decisions against UNT...to blame his struggles soley on the fan base is being ignorant. Has it been a factor? probably. The only reason? Laughable
