The facilities arms race is an antiquated relic of a former era of college sports. NIL is where the money must go.
this is exactly my thought too.

It's not about facilities anymore, it's cash for the players. Players are for sale every year, and they no longer give a damn about facilities.

(and I hate that, but it's the cold, hard truth in today's game).

not sure what else you want

Covered bleachers with seatbacks in Alex Box. Plus a misting system for when it gets hot in May.

The arena is being paid for by a third party, who will retain ownership for 30 years. They will lease the arena to LSU for sports, and put on concerts and other events on their own. It's a great deal for LSU and the city.

LSU has the best baseball program in the country.

LSU should have the best baseball facilities in the country, but it doesn't. Not even in the conference.

New track indoor and outdoor could draw revenue from hosting regional events.

Woodward was proposed the opportunity to buy an indoor track for Carl Maddox (I believe used/refurbished) that would've drawn more meets and money for the university several years ago and the price has since tripled to buy an indoor track.

The outdoor track would have been moved to the golf course but from my understanding, engineers realized it was going to cost way more than it would have been worth to move the track. My guess is the proximity to the levee water table and the golf course itself have issues that would've made the project cost too much.

Fun fact:

When the track was resurfaced last year, the program was under the impression that the track would be moved soon so they resurfaced with the same red/beige color scheme we have had, but if LSU knew the track was staying put, it would've have likely been purple.

Private developer. Not expecting much, if any, LSY or TAF money. The development will be more than just an arena. Look for entertainment, dining, bars, apartments, etc. Tigerland is being discussed.
