It is more mental fatigue than physical. They have to show up at the ballpark to play 5 times a week, get prepared for 5 different starting pitchers, etc. And of course these guys are theoretically still students. So 5 games in a week can be draining mentally.
baseball mentally draining??? Come on now.
quote:

It’s not sustainable. All this does is wear the team down early
it's baseball, man.

The only players even remotely susceptible to wearing down are pitchers. But it's college and they don't play an excessive number of games so they'll be fine. .

Does lsu accept the nit invite this year?
good lord, is anyone interested in having this miserable season continue??? We have zero business being in any post-season tournament.

If he’s nursing any injury you wouldn’t want to run at the Combine.
Perkins' last game was 3 months ago.

What’s the advantage of skipping?
none.

If I was trying to raise my draft stock after an inconsistent college career, and thought I had the ability to do it, I'd work out for anyone, anywhere, anytime.

Saying no to any evaluation just shows he's not confident in the results.

Now, it's different when you're already a very high pick, where a (bad) workout can only hurt your draft stock. But that's only a few guys.

You're proving the point I made about McMahon. There's a large segment of the fanbase who was never going to support him no matter what he did because they're obsessed with the last coach.
Pirate - I don't often agree with you, but I agree on this point.

Fans shouldn't root for the coach, they should root for the LSU program.

I liked Wade and the success and energy he brought, but I also wanted MM to succeed.

Of course, it's been crystal clear for awhile now that MM isn't going to get it done here, so we need a new coach. If it's Wade, or someone else, I'm going to pull for their success, But it's all about LSU, not the coach.

How long have you been bitching about Cox being on the floor in PMAC?
I hate the Cox logo on the PMAC floor as well (although the PMAC floor is far less iconic and sacred than the Tiger Stadium field).

Somebody needs to remove the obscene corporate name from the 25 yard lines. That is an abomination.
quote:

No it isn’t. It could be a lot worse. At least LSU makes these companies comply with using logos in purple and gold.
it most certainly IS an abomination. I don't give a damn what color it is - it's existence is obscene.

You do realize LSU has now capitulated and it's only a matter of time before naming rights to Tiger Stadium are auctioned off.

You may be fine with that as well, but I am definitely not.

I’m sure ATT will be featured prominently somewhere or as the sponsor on the coaches headsets.
that's the first thing I thought too.

Somebody needs to remove the obscene corporate name from the 25 yard lines. That is an abomination.

To everyone freaking out over the McNeese loss: Baseball is not football. Sometimes you don't get the hits you need, or your pitchers can't find the zone, or the opposing team has a really good game, or all of the above. It happens to everyone
correct.

If a bad baseball team beats a very good one, it's not a shock. If a bad football team beats a very good football team, it's a big deal.

It's just the nature of the two sports. Upsets are shocking in football, not at all in baseball.

I always thought the Brian Kelly/cultural fit stuff was over blown
agreed, that doesn't really matter.

You think curmudgeon midwesterner Nick Saban was a cultural fit in Tuscaloosa? Midwesterner Urban Meyer a cultural fit in Gainesville, FL?

None of that matters. A good coach can be successful anywhere, regardless of the cultural fit.
I hate these comparisons, in any sports. The teams will never play each other, so we'll never know.

But who cares? They all have a NC trophy.

So a regular season girls basketball game basically drew as many viewers as college baseball biggest stage .
outside of a few schools, no one watches college baseball
quote:

Who cares. It's basketball. We are a baseball and football school....and it's baseball season.
with the exception of only a few schools, no one cares about college baseball.

Now sure, I love that LSU is an elite baseball school and want us to win every year, but in the broad scheme of things, baseball is a minor sport.
quote:

What is the purpose of the raised black wall behind center field?
surely you can't be serious.
quote:

It is fairly subtle on the FB and BB jerseys. It stands out too much on the purple BB uni. I don't like this crap at all, but at least it isn't too obnoxious.
the issue isn't that the patch is subtle.

The issue is that the patch exists.

silly voter polls are irrelevant, especially very early in the season with almost no data points.

The regular season SEC championship is determined by record, the SEC Tournament is determined on the field, and the National Championship is determined by a playoff.

Ignore all silly voter polls, which are a relic from decades ago.
quote:

So a patch makes LSU baseball a clown show. What are you posting for?
no, but we've already capitulated by putting a horrific corporate logo on the sacred Tiger Stadium field. We have a corporate logo on our basketball court, and now a patch on our football uniform.

It's just a matter of time before we sell the naming rights to Tiger Stadium and other venues. And more field ads and uniform patches are coming.

If that doesn't bother you, then you and just feel very differently about what college sports should be.

quote:

At least it isn’t completely distracting I guess
slippery slope. If you think that's going to be the only patch, get ready for more.

And the on-field corporate advertisement on the 25 yard lines is sickening.

The sell-out continues...
and college sports' descent continues...
