I seem to remember a bunch of people saying this about Wisky last season

If we do our normal opening day sleepwalking that was common under Miles then we're in for a fight

I think the biggest point and similarity is that it is game 1. A few games in might change everything. But for now, it's game 1 with a whole bunch of sub factors involved. New coaches, new scheme, huge personnel turnover, health concerns, etc, etc.

I don't expect BYU to win but I expect a tough battle actually similar to Wisconsin in many ways... Except we'll have better QB play.

Elite athletes matter, but year after year, team after team proves that the don't matter enough. Gotta have things clicking by game 1 and BYU isn't breaking in anything new, plus get a warm-up game against a team hopefully solid enough that they can see where they're at (PSU has beat some P5 teams recently).

Eh, give them more credit than that. Don't make excuses for Miss St. They got away with some nasty crap all game and still lost. And I don't expect them to be improved this year with what they lost.

Shouldn't be. Our defense will be fine (bend but don't break). I think we see much improvement with another camp under Aranda. The offense should be more than capable of running it down the throat of their defense and passing for large chunks when they sell out to stop it.

I foresee a close game until the mid-late second quarter with LSU winning 35-13 ish.

They have to actually be firing on all cylinders before they can self destruct. Is it really self-destructing if they just haven't really clicked yet?

Not saying they can't get there but this is game 1 with a new system, and not exactly the most amazing offensive roster for LSU history, from what I can tell. That will be pretty impressive if he can get them rolling like that by game 1. At this point, honestly asking, is there a lot to suggest the Pitt offense wasn't more of an outlier in Canada's history?
