His failure in the pros is the raiders problem not mine. He was the best Lsu QB I've seen in my lifetime and won a shite ton of games for us. Welcome back JR.

+1

Pisses me off how people choose to forget all the things he did for the Tigers. Good luck J Russell!

He's coming back for cheap, unlimited meal plans. Appearing at The Five and 459 this fall: JaMarcus Russel!

You were only alive for his junior year?
in my lifetime I haven't seen a better QB at LSU. that's a pretty clear statement; ask a grownup to explain it to you if you're still having trouble.

I saw Bert. He was better. Hodson was great but not like JR IMO

I'd take any of the three this year

JR can wear any Bama gear he wants. I wonder if he feels bad realizing that his team beat bama every single time he was on the field? At least he has a heart. LOL

Wait!

He must be confused. LSU announced they would be brewing beer on campus. The Chemistry department is not concocting the purple couch syrup thingy.

Great he is returning to school. They need all the out of state tuition they can muster.

My best friend works at GNC in cortana mall. He said Jamarcus came in and spent $500 on fat burners and other supplements because he was "trying to get my life together and get back in dat league"

He was very good his Soph year, and helped LSU win a number of games in his RS Freshman year. In the last 30 years, only Hodson can be argued.

I think the numbers indicate that it is between Russell and Hodson, with Russell having a great junior season (like, a lot better than any of Hodson's) but with Hodson having the more consistent career.

You also have to consider JR shared time his freshman year, although there was a reason for that.

Bert wasn't even a full-time starter man, and his numbers don't compare.

Granted, it was a different game back then.

But I don't think you can say Bert Jones was better when he wasn't even asked to do the same types of things that JR and Hodson were asked to do.

And if he hates LSU so much, why is coming back just within the period where it still helps LSU's APR if he graduates? JR graduating is good for the LSU football program, and people still want to blast him.

i find it funny that he is here right when fall camp starts.

Now that we know JR had zero work ethic back in the day, imagine how far LSU could have gone had he tried?

jimbo was quoted saying the exact opposite re: JR's work ethic "back in the day"

I go by what I see with my EYES, not what's on paper

Well, it was a different game anyways. Too hard to compare from that era to even the 1980s. So much changed in the 70s and 80s.

BTW, I have Bert Jones' autograph. Pretty cool.

JR won a ton of close games for us... he was one of our best ever. Regardless of the Bama gear.

His current circumstances do not support that conclusion.

Staying for his SR year wouldn't have changed the results in the pros.....He still was the #1 pick in the NFL draft with a 35+ million dollar payday.

Great decision.
