He did it against shitty competition.

A&M and Auburn or on the schedule so he's got that covered

Oh good lord. So much kennel blindness around here…

I keep getting this nauseating thought that we might actually have a damn good QB and he is going to be wasted on a rebuild year
He has plenty of talent around him to light it up.

Jayden plays in the SEC not the ACC. Lamar wouldn't have won the Heisman if he played behind a porous and young OL in the SEC

I sense we are getting ahead of ourselves.

Seriously pump the brakes are sober up

The team would have to go on a hell of a run for him to be considered, but I would agree he has exceeded expectations statistically and is on a roll; that top five national QBR speaks for itself.
He does have a chance with our early schedule to shine though. The meat of the schedule is of course a bitch though so only time will tell what we've really got here.

Jesus. This kind of shite is why I barely read this board anymore

The stats, if on current pace, will support a heisman look 100%
Posted on 9/13/22 at 7:13 am to AMac
As of now he's #1 rated QB in the SEC and #5 nationally.

Congrats on throwing away $10
Wait you only got him at +6500 odds? He’s currently +10000

Wait until we lose then the true Rant will come return.

He’s probably a lot closer to being in the running talent-wise than many other top QBs.
He might should be in the top 10, but there are a lot of talented qb’s with higher odds currently.

If the light comes on and he starts hitting throws down field then his ceiling is high, but I think he may only get marginally better as the season goes on.
I think he wasn't done any favors by his time at Arizona State and picked up some bad habits that LSU is having to correct or undo.
If the guy wants to play pro ball he's going to have to make his money with his arm. The pros have been there and done that with scramblers and only the elite of the elite can truly make difference with their legs at the pro-level (Lamar Jackson/Michael Vick) but the ability to get the ball to the receivers where it needs to be takes you from athlete to great player.

If he keeps getting better and starts lighting it up, I don’t think it’s that far fetched. He was a highlight machine his freshman year. Plus I bet $10 on it before the season.
No way is JD even close to good enough to be considered for the Heisman. Have you ever noticed his lack of arm strength?

willing to go with this OL sitch.
The OL is no worse than any other SEC squad outside maybe Georgia and Alabama. I don't know why we have to do this EVERY.SINGLE.YEAR.
The offensive depends on a lot of things like pre-snap reads, matchups, WR route running, running back assignments, communication at the LOS between the OL, the right playcall etc.
There are tons of highly productive QBs in P5 conferences that don't have a great OL.
So the idea that the OL is solely responsible for offensive woes is incredibly simple minded and it was a common scapegoat during the Miles-era with his 1950s offense.
Our OL are more talented than most and more than adequate to take care of business against most teams but execution in the areas around the OL can make their life better or worse.
Do you think Peyton Manning and Tom Brady always had the best OL in the NFL? Or did they adjust their game relative to what the OL could give them? They implemented internal clocks to get rid of the ball, learned their check downs and pre-snap reads, found where the quick option would be. None of that requires an all-world OL.
