I didn't read all five pages of this thread, but to the guy on the first page who said he is an arrogant dick -
What the frick do you want him to say? "Golly, I don't know if I'm starting or benchwarming."
JJ being confident is a really good sign, because the talent was always there, but he lacked the confidence to stand in the pocket.

It's called confidence. He's confident that he's going to perform well enough to solidify his role as starter and I like that. He could have been more humble, sure, but Jefferson needs some "swagger". It's time for him to come out swinging imo.
Thats not confidence.. thats insecurity issues and intimidation cause he knows that mett might get on the feild an outshine him ..

I like the confidence. Now, produce on the field and prove the haters wrong.

So why did JJ feel the need to be quoted on something everyone knew? Was he trying to rub it in Mett's face? Mature leader and all!
yes...that was exactly what he was doing. I've been told that right before he tweeted this he punched a couple of babies and set a church on fire.

Do you think he went to the reporter and said, "ask me who's going to start this season?" He was asked a question and answered confidently. I get worried on this board some times.

I don't get why this statement bothers people either. We all know JJ is the starter, regardless.
No way, brah.
After that awful performance in the Cotton Bowl, Miles should sit JJ down and tell him:
"Look I know you're a senior but you suck. Your stats are just horrible. I don't give a shite how many games we won last year. The QB job is an open competition now. I've got this fresh new kid who's never played a down in the SEC but the Rantards will have my head if I don't give him a shot right now. You'll have to earn your job. Whoever wins the QB derby starts against Oregon on opening day. Sorry, kid, but that's how it is. Don't like it? Too bad."
That and JJ's head on a pike might do the trick.

i don't think he said "we" enough for tigerpawl

No kidding. I know this is the rant, but some of these frickers are retarded. Embarrassing.

know....JJ could tweet "I just cured mother frickin' cancer bitches!!", and these guys would get pissed and say he was just bragging.
Hey I would be alot more impressed if he tweeted that he could consistently complete the bubble screen and the slant now. Heck that would be a huge improvement?

That's the opposite of what Jefferson said, numbnuts.

Why would you want a QUITTER as your starting qb? If he cant cut it, bench his arse .. But it seems like miles created that monster ..
Jefferson can talk all he wants but he's sucked for the past two years. I said suck because he was the primary issue with the offense. You can say 17-7 all day but that's a terribly skewed number.

He didn't freak out on those passes, they were just bad passes. Jefferson stays level headed under pressure and isn't afraid to take hits, for the most part. But he's been wildly inconsistent. It sounds like things are starting to "click" for him. If it was just Miles and coaches saying that about JJ, I'd still be skeptical. But when experts and former players start talking about his improvements, I start getting a glimmer of hope.

Yeah, I think misplaced confidence bothers people but I have no problem with what he said here. Let's see if he can back it up.

Dude I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you just questioned JJ's intelligence. Right or wrong you are about to be labeled a racist. You know the JJ fan club wont allow that or posting of stats and logic when you speak of their hero.

If LSU loses the first game due to Jefferson's inability to move the offense...I guarantee you East Baton Rouge Parish will probably riot for about 4 straight days.

quote:So miles is responsible for 11 wins and takes no heat for the Arky loss? It's the D's fault? Is not the D part of the game? Just like in those 11 wins? I think he's the HC? Yes? You could just as easily speculate that if the O would put up 21 more points vs. Ark.... JJ's feeble play (4 TD passes in the reg season??) CONSISTENTLY puts waaaaaaay too much pressure on the D, IMHO.
Why don't you put some blame on the defense against Arky?
