So we had a great offense in 2001.
We started out blowing off the doors in 2002 with the exception of the VT game until Mauck got hurt. Even with the VaTech game, LSU averaged 32 ppg through those first 6 games.
Had another record setting offensive season in 2003 clearly.
2004 was the QB fiasco, and everyone knew it.
Yes, though, he was such a horrible OC. He'll only be remembered negatively now in defense of Miles because of 2 games in 2006 that may or may not have been a result of his choice.

That 2001 offense took a few losses to get rolling. Still struggled against Fla and Tenn although that's pretty understandable since both were great teams.
2002 offense was not great but hard to tell with the QB injury. Did nothing against VT.
2003 offense was sufficient but just barely. Ran up good numbers on shite teams but nearly cost us OM and OK, did cost us Fla, and struggled the fist game against UGA. Defense carried that team.
2004 was a bad offense.
2005 was ok but underperformed IMO.
2006 was maybe the most talented roster in LSU history and the offense sucked against AU, Fla, OM, and struggled against Tenn and Bama.

Doesn't Les do this?

They felt Jimbo wasn't ready yet. He just became the HC at FSU in 2010. He would have gotten it sooner if Bowden retired earlier, but not by much.
You have to remember this was January of 2005 when LSU was looking for a HC.
Also, had LSU hired Jimbo over someone with HC experience and it didn't work out, then the powers that be would have been tarred and feathered.

Miles was a hire by Bertman with the intention of him being significantly easier to control than a Saban type coach.

Fl St is in a good place now due to ONE great recruit...Jameis Winston...
How many championships has Fl St won in the last 6/7 years since Jimbo got there ??

You don't destroy a team like Clemson at their place because of one good player. Winston doesn't play defense. There was an obvious talet gap in that game all around.
For the last three years or so, half the players on the field in the UA/US Army high school all star games are going to FSU. This is the reason they're rolling now. And there's really no end in sight...

a great QB, hides a lot of mistakes by an offense...and defense
one BIG win does not cure all....
he is recruiting well, let's see what happens.
Clemson has some faults and has been somewhat overrated.
Let's see what the D does in other big games.
Once again, since Fisher has been there..how many championships has Fl St won ?
wait until you crown him

FSU might have the most talented team in the nation

FSU has always recruited well. The talent HAS always been there at FSU. During Bobby's dark years, the talent was squandered.

a BCS victory
...Northern Illinois. Don't come in here with that. I went to FSU and their schedule last year was a joke. The only good game was Clemson at HOME. FSU should have lost to VT...was beat by lousy NC ST and got tromped by UF. Don't sneak that BCS win in your head like it means anything.
FSU is coming back...maybe. We'll see when the Playoff happens and they have to play more than 1 "tough" game at the end of the year to win a Nat CH.
