I don't like to run because of my surgeries on my knee, but I did and still swim and do water aerobics 3-4 times per week... just couldn't lose the weight... now I can control the volume of food and when I went a month without the medication, I didn't gain any weight back.

And there is the difference between you and the OP. He said all he does is walk and lift. Neither of which will help with significant weight loss. Cardio exercise and by that I mean real cardio is what leads to weight loss. He is not doing that.

The drugs are also very dangerous, but docs don’t care. Had a guy we knew die from organ failure after jumping on those meds. It is a known side effect but docs don’t care and obviously neither do the pharma companies.

I walk 2.5 miles a day and lift 2-3 times a week, the Rx was good for suppressing appetite at night.

So things that will not drive weight loss. Very smart.

Lifting doesn’t cause enough cardio output increase to lose weight and walking does not either.

Jogging and other significant aerobic exercise would. Do those and you won’t need meds.
In 18 months he lost 75 pounds. That’s less than 5 pounds per month.

That is not some groundbreaking amount. Also, it’s a lazy approach with lots of nasty side effects, but everyone else is supposed to pay for his shortcut.

People needing medicines like mentioned earlier for things like Crohns, cancer, MS, etc have no options. These people trying to. Lose weight have other options.

That is the issue. It’s a convenience drug and utterly pathetic that everyone else is having to pay for it.
So you were fine with everyone else paying that for you to lose weight instead of freaking exercising and eating right, but now that you have to pay it, this is ridiculous?

This world has become pathetic and some of you leeches are hilarious. You also probably bitch about entitled people on welfare and disability.
Students are lazy as hell now by the way. I had a freaking master’s student take my stat course and take 30% of the exam on his own and then used AI for the last 70%.

The kid got the first 30% right. Then bombed the part where AI was used.

Wanna know how lazy they were? They left the response, “My AI does not produce graphs” in their answer.

I tell my students, don’t cheat, but if you I are going to do it, do it well and put in some effort. Make it a challenge for me to figure out.
Kids are lazy and think they can outsmart instructors using AI.

They are going to pay a major price. The parents are as much to blame because many of them only care about the grade too.

This is happening everywhere and even happens with honest students just checking their work with grammerly.

It's a joke sport that has been ruined as usual by a major market team and the other teams just taking it.

I used to like pro baseball back in the day too, but now I actually dislike it.
Coen in the AFC South is a bit ridiculous. Sure, they had a great first year, but Ryan has gotten Houston to the second round of the playoffs for his first 3 years, including this one, and his unit (defense) is the best and most dominant in the league right now.

Other than that, the rest make sense.
Men's Basketball already gets the second most of any sport despite having the smallest roster compared to Football and baseball. Why on Earth does it deserve more money?

Get a coach that actually doesn't suck and then you can invest, but you don't invest money in a bad product. LSU wasted even more money keeping McMahon for another year just like UF did by keeping Napier.

Hell, UF may have gotten Kiffin last year if they did the right thing and fired Napier then instead of doubling down on NIL for him. They got those players and paid them for one year, only to bolt when they fired him anyway after another embarrassing season.

No more money to men's basketball until McMahon is fired AND a legit new head coach is hired.
Also note that the portal time frame is just for current players that have not completed their degree. If a player graduated, they can enter the portal at any point as a graduate transfer, so there may be some movement throughout Spring and into the Summer even though it will be significantly less than now.
Guy is not worth it. Would be one of the few head scratchers for this portal season given the kid is supposedly a POS for what he did to his teammates at Clemson.
If you want to give Olave a contract that is front loaded, i.e. $30 million in years 1 and 2 and then drops massively? Maybe you can justify that because at worst it doesn't hamstring you in the future if he continues with the injury issues and you can pay cheap on draft picks for a couple of years.

If you are talking an AAV of $30 Mill for 3+ years, then forget it. No #2 is worth that, and as you can see, players much better than him can be had in the draft for much lower picks than where he was drafted and have an immediate impact.

re: Criticism of our past OL

It was a combination of a lot of things to be honest. Davis wasn't atrocious, but struggled teaching the technique to young players that he was being asked for.

He actually was always good at coaching pass blocking, but sucked at coaching run blocking.

Another part of that was S&C coach being worthless and the OL simply being weaker than they need to be.

Scheme was also an issue. They were trying to mix up blocking schemes too much and the players could not get it. Some experienced ones could, but there is a reason why Chester struggled so much his first year when Sloan took over play calling and OC duties. It was an awful scheme.

Add in a RB coach that had made it an art with how much he could coach down his RBs, it should be studied and logged in the eternal records for the future to witness.

Then there are the simple misses on recruits. OL is one of the hardest positions to gauge for recruiting. Lots of 5* OL bust at a higher rate than other positions. Same with 4*s. Getting away with being the biggest guy out there 99% of the time in high school and very simplistic schemes can make a guy look unstoppable, only to have him be a flop when the competition is equal.

In the end, it is more about change of scenery needs from all sides after the debacle that was the Sloan/Kelly offense.
Kiffin took over Ole Miss at a different time and against a a different league. First year was the Covid year and then NIL was a new thing and uncharted waters for everyone with no real guidance.

Now it is different with free transfers, revenue sharing and NIL. Not to mention roster size increase.

If I am not mistaken the BIG Ten allowed the full 105 person rosters while the SEC stayed capped at 85 until next season.

That makes a difference in depth, which matters late in the season and post season. Cig got a lot of advantages that others didn’t just a few years ago. He’s still an amazing coach and doing something absurd, but ignoring how things have changed just in the last 5 or 6 years is silly.

Cash is the motherfricking GOAT

You realize he just sang a Trent Reznor song, right? He didn’t write it.
Had they not wasted that timeout, they could have still had a shot with 3 timeouts.

Classic awful coaching.

complete dumbshit takes from LSU fans have become just as common as oxygen in the air.

It’s common sense. They hit often but also busy often. Russell Shepard was a 5*, top dual-threat QB in the rankings and never threw a pass in college.

Jaxson Arnold was a 5*. Tate Martell, Max Browne, and several others.

Kid has talent and may turn out great, but nothing about his record on the field both in high school and college screams top QB so far.
Jackson Arnold was a 5 Star QB and we saw what he did at both OU and Auburn.

High school 5 star QBs bust as much as anyone.

re: Caleb Williams a bust?

He’s still playing Jekyll and Hyde ball all year and even had it in this game.

He’s always been talented, but it’s just been whether he could get the mental part of the game. He’s showing it is there but will depend on if he continues to develop.

Top 3 picks of the 2024 draft have been ridiculous.

Williams, Daniels and Maye. All three took their teams to a playoffs. The first two have won their first playoff starts. If Maye wins tomorrow, it will be all 3. Hard to believe how well all 3 have looked.
On how to blow a lead after your team goes up with under two minutes to go.
