re: Johns Hopkins admissions data shows plummeting number of blacks

People celebrating now will be complaining when the top schools are 90% Asian and about how poor whitey is getting screwed in admissions.
re: So, is it kinda true the SEC was cheating way more than anyone else pre NIL?
Posted by Geauxgurt on 4/12/26 at 12:29 pm to lsupride87
No, not really.
Big Ten had a good but cheating team in Michigan football 2023.
tOSU got bailed out by the expanded playoff system and an easy draw plus taking advantage of the rust for Oregon.
Indiana had a team full of players a good 4 years older than most teams. It won’t be repeated.
Michigan basketball team was bought by one of the richest men in the world.
Big has improved, but UF and LSU won titles last year.
This isn’t a dominant run like the SEC had in football from 2003 to 2021 in football. It’s a nice three year run, and when they win 7 straight and 13 in 17 years.

So will LSU pay the $5 Million buyout instead of $3 million
Posted by Geauxgurt on 3/26/26 at 1:26 pm
since they are hiring Wade prior to April 1?
They obliterated them so much that they are still shutting down the Straight of Hormuz, shooting down US fighter jets, our aircraft carrier tucked its tail and ran, and is getting multiple significant hits in Israel and surrounding areas, including US bases.
But hey, he's a crusader, and as delusional as a lot of Americans.

re: SEC ESPN host Peter Burns makes the case for retaining Matt McMahon at LSU

If you bring him back, you give the men’s basketball team 1% of Revenue Share and drop NIL by 90% for the basketball team.
Make him earn it instead of wasting money on a team you know will finish dead last or in that real again next year.

Same reason it won the best original screenplay despite being basically a ripoff of From Dusk till Dawn.
re: WTF?? My credit score went down 35 points
Posted by Geauxgurt on 3/14/26 at 9:15 am to doublecutter
Paying off debts lower your credit score. It’s a stupid system, but now you have less accounts.
The less you borrow, the less money you make creditors, so you are punished.
Same reason your score goes up if you keep a balance on a credit card and make minimum payments, but goes down if you pay off the card before it closes leaving zero balance.
It’s a rigged system.

re: The $10 million buyout number is extremely misleading...

The buyout is not $10 million.
If fired as of March 1st, he would have been owed $8.2 Million at most. That would need to be paid equally over 40 months, so roughly $200k per month, until he finds a new job that would offset it.

USC is just in their heads. Both really good teams and I don’t think USCe is actually better. I’d say they are even. Reality though is that USCe and Staley have gotten into the players heads. It’s a self fulfilling prophecy and once LSU wins one of them, it will change things.
This happens all the time in sports at every level. One team just has the other under there thumb.
Bama was that for Miles and the football team.

So, no
It's actually -37.
+27 to -10 in less than four years

This is what McMahon has done to LSU's historic overall SEC record since he came to LSU.
Prior to his arrival, LSU was 720-693 in the SEC overall.
now they are 737-747 and below 0.500 overall for the first time since the 1978-1979 season.
Should be -11 by this weekend too.

People that were hitting him need to be charged. Good God that is some pathetic and weak behavior for grown men.
He was not a threat at that point and the guy hitting him (red hat) in the head with whatever is in his hand is a typical pussy.

Imagine how much profit the men’s bball would net if we simply didn’t pay these players and used walk-ins since the results will be the same with McMahon.
It’s not the NCAA but ridiculous court decisions without any merit that are the problem.

This might be the single dumbest thing I’ve heard in a long time.
Why? He was not ruled eligible by the NCAA and was only given the injunction within the state of Mississippi. A state court can’t force injunctions across state lines.

Mono is completely different from tonsillitis. Both give you pain in the throat and one completely physically drains you for up to months.
Stop trying to compare legit illnesses that knock people out for extended periods. But hey, anything to get your QB back over a sore throat.

First off, the rest of the teams can sue against his eligibility in their home states for Ole Miss road games. Then he can play half a season and drop in the draft.
Will be funny when he has to enter the supplemental draft when this joke of an injunction is invalidated.

No Ole Miss fan can make fun of Bama for their pro BBall player after this kangaroo court

It’s not really just that. It’s even worse when you think of all kinds of games that allow you to by extra lives, hints and skip steps through cash or watching ads.
You no longer have to really suffer that much playing because you can just watch an ads and keep going.
There is a truth to this and I think it has led to a significant issue with kids learning how to deal with struggling and not getting things right off the bat.
That said, I don’t think it is some advantage of Gen X over previous generations. They learned the same things in other ways.
Is this his service dog for his ptsd from the BLM riots and his subsequent breakdown on how awful white people are?
re: Alperen Sengun calls female ref a b***h 3 separate times, gets ejected

She sucks as a ref and is clearly there as a what people believe DEI is. It is awful officiating and there are actually good female refs in the NBA but that woman is ruining it for all of them.
