I'll say Bama just because he was playing better vs Bama than other other QB did last season. If he hadn't gotten knocked out of the game, he would have probably put up more yards than he did against AU.

his best half was chick bowl.
second half he wasnt very good at all.

auburn was prob second.

Thats one of my hangups with this guy.. many of you say he has improved however the most common answer to this question is his 2nd complete game.

I like what he did in the Cap One bowl. Stats removed, he put the ball on the money many times, (wr's couldn't catch due to field conditions.), he changed the play at the line and hit b.l. for a t.d. (showed progress), and he brought the team from behind to take the lead. (the defense couldn't hold).

he was pretty shitty the first half of the Cap One. I like that he shook that off and played a lot better during the 2nd. and WRs were just flat dropping stuff IMO, wasn't really on the weather.

I think the bama game showed how he had improved in his reads and presence. Something not often mentioned and a little of the subject but his toughness is amazing. That dude took some shots all year long.

wish there was a stat for dropped passes

Blame most of the dropped passes on the not so awesome technical coaching from the great recruiter/used car salesman DJM. Hopefully BG can teach these guys some strong WR technique and how to keep their concentration during a game. Judging by spring practice player comments, he's doing just that. Want to see it transfer over to a game now........

I like jj a lot but he eyed Brandon LaFell down that entire play. Don't believe me look it up on youtube.

An good O-Line will give any QB confidence. That was the problem. We didn't have even an average O-Line. Alabama had an average QB but a great O-Line.

Washington was Tolliver's best game, not JJ

this

Sweet fade route to Terrance and I like how he just threw it up for LaFell when he noticed single coverage.

I thought some of his best throws were to Peterson vs Bama and the 2 TDs to Randle vs Ole Miss.

Now, if he could just learn the swing pass.

Through out the whole game last year against AUB he was in a great rhythm. He was getting the ball out quick and the offense just had a great pace to it.

I still don't look at this guy as someone who can win a game for us when it is on the line and up to him to make a play.

Perhaps he can rise to that level this year. I'm willing to give him a chance; just skeptical.

Agreed....not even close.

JJ had his career-best 242 yards and two touchdowns. He also scored on a 15-yard run and at least three of his passes down the field were dropped by open receivers.

Give me a big win over an SEC west Auburn team any day over a sub-500 Washington team.

Matt Flynn cumulative season Stats 2007 (LSU BCS National Champions 12-2):Matt Flynn 12 Games Started 125.76 Efficiency 202-359-11 56.3 percent 2407yds 21 tds 71 lng 200.6

Jordan Jefferson 2009 cumulative season stats: 12-12 137.2 Efficiency 182-296-7 61.5 percentage 2166 yds 17 tds 58 lng 180.5 yds/game.

The stats are nearly the same yet JJ had a better passer rating, and percentage and nearly as many touchdowns with 63 fewer attempts. Our problem wasnt QB play, it was the nearly silent running game.

Flynn's mobility and game smarts put him far above JJ. Watching a QB routinely take sacks, shown an inability to run the ball, take too long to get the play off, and stare at the sideline in utter confusion makes this comparison laughable.

Remember Flynn's fake injury/chin strap event from the 07 bama game, and the over the shoulder toss fake FG against SC? How long, if ever, would it take JJ to get that right?

Probably the first time... Just saying... I find it funny that Flynn is thought off as an all time great LSU QB. He was a good QB who helped us win a NC but he wasn't the main reason we won.
