Neither QB can read the defense. It's a coaching problem.

JJ compared himself to Michael Vick... I was a JJ supporter until that moment (Did so shortly after Ole Miss game this season)...

Now I think he just holds the ball so he can run with it, and blame it on everyone else if he doesnt get the first down...

In Arkansaw game he held the ball so long on the last drives, and then looked to run at a time when even a 15 yard run would be worthless to us almost..

I hate JJ its official...

quote:

Jefferson said Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick's recent play inspired his recent play. "I felt like Michael Vick out there," Jefferson said after the Ole Miss game Saturday. Jefferson completed his first eight passes against the Rebels. Vick completed his first 10 passes in a 59-28 victory over Washington on Monday Night Football a week ago before becoming the first player in NFL history to throw for 300 yards, rush for 50 yards, throw for four touchdowns and rush for two touchdowns. "I was watching the Monday Night Football game with Vick against the Redskins, and he played a phenomenal game," Jefferson said. "He was 8-for-8 at one point. Starting the Ole Miss game off, I was 8-for-8. That's just kind of how I felt. I was running the ball, throwing the ball, just doing a lot of things that he did that Monday night." Vick threw for 258 yards and ran for 34 in a 27-17 win over the New York Giants Sunday night. Those numbers were very similar to Jefferson's against Ole Miss — 254 passing and 45 rushing. Jefferson was asked if he heard Vick say that he felt like Jordan Jefferson after the game. "Nah, nah, I didn't see any interviews," Jefferson said. "But it would've been nice if he would've said that."

I really don't think he had to in those games. For the Alabama game, in the second half, I think Les just let it all hang out and said "let it all out and throw to Randle down field". No thinking needed, just an arm.

So the "let it all hang out" strategy was solely responsible for his play?

If so, why didn't we implement the "let all it hang out" strategy against Arkansas?

quote:

That's the only way Jefferson is going to be successful, by taking chances down field and relying on the talent of players like Randle/Toliver/Deangelo Peterson to finish the plays.

You're wrong, but it's a cute theory.

When JJ rolls out of the pocket on pass plays he is generally more successful.

It buys him time to see things downfield (or take off if nothing is open), and masks the OL deficiencies.

I agree that he is more successful rolling out, but I think you overstate the "offensive line deficiencies by quite a bit. The O line was quite adequate this year. They weren't perfect but in the least, were average as a unit.

Right. And you really can't fault the O-line for being a product of Crowton's awful situational playcalling.

Third and short? Let's send in the big package and let everyone East of the Mississippi know the play we're going to run.

Having trouble blocking a DT who is consistently in the backfield? That's your own problem, because I'll be damned to call for a chip block or a screen pass.

Heavy pass rush near the goal line? Well, probably the best thing to do is spread everyone out and call all twenty plus yard routes.

The man is a genius.

I was, and I still think J lee sucks (although he saved us against tennessee and florida no doubt), but JJ showed right there that the problem is in his own head, and not his abilities...

Obviously he thinks he's really good, and his suckiness is a big part of that...

Obviously, its not like he's a team first player who's having a rough season, its his flawed mentality...

I think you read way too much into a 20 year old's quotes taken from off the top of his head.

Yeah, I am not convinced that a Crowton QB will ever be successful at LSU again.

Naw dude.... Him saying that is like John Brantley from Florida comparing himself to Peyton Manning after a game...

After a team win, JJ (1 passing td - which was really an option pitch to Ford, and 1 rushing td) compares himself to Vick, who had recently completed one of the most incredible quarterbacking performance of all-time (4tds passing 3 rushing), is just ridiculous...

Its like if Brantley threw for 2 td's then compared himself to peyton after peyton had just thrown for 7td's...

Basically, there is no comparison and why he would even say that is questionable, and provides some insight into how he views himself...

Its not like he said, I couldn't have done it without my teammates (which is probably what Vick or Peyton would say anyways)

If you think your attitude as a QB isnt a big deal you are mistaken...Also, your teammates can read the newspaper too, what if JJ was your teammate, and said that about himself after a game? Im just sayn, imho thats a pretty ridiculous statement, and i have been a huge JJ supporter until a little after mid-way through this season, check my old posts if you dont beleive it...

He said he felt like he was in a grove like Vick was against the Redskins. He didn't say he was as good as Vick.

I think the coaching staff is enabling JJ in this regard. I actually believe he doesn't realize there is a problem. Of course, there is a huge problem(s)

That's my point, he wasnt in a groove like Vick was, far from it Vick went apesh*t... To even think this after a completely incomparable performance is ridiculous....
