Loved watching a kid the same age as me come in and make a name for himself here in his first year. It's been a tough three years, but I enjoyed it. Be seeing you, Johnny.

My guess is he will get drafted late in the second, get cut, go overseas

Thanks for the memories, JOB3. I think it's the wrong decision but best of luck to the kid.

no shot???
c'mon guy
Don't you know on this board that if you aren't Lebron James you have no shot in the NBA. Nevermind the fact that former LSU players like Garret Temple, Chris Johnson, Ronald Dupree, Justin Hamilton, etc... have all gotten a "shot" in the NBA.

April Fools.
I have a story written but until I hear him say it in the press conference, I am not publishing it. This 4/1/14 date scares me as it could be the ultimate April Fools on a fanbase.

Good luck to JOBIII.
I think it's the right move, for him, at this time.
I doubt he could improve his draft stock by returning for his last year.

He was a great Tiger. I wish him the best of luck at the next level.

Wrong decision based on what? He's probably going to ranked somewhere in the top 40-60 players going into the draft. That puts him as a potential second round pick. The thing is though, even if he did return for next season he still would not be a first round pick next year. Coming back to LSU is not going to improve his NBA game, as he's not going to be asked to be a pure back-to-the basket post in the NBA. He showed the ability this year to hit the mid-range shot which is what he'll have to do as an undersized NBA PF. That, along with rebounding, which he's always been able to do. The guy is what he is at this point as a college player. There's no reason for him to stay another year and play for free if his goal is the NBA

Why? He needs to get started working on his NBA game. He is unfortunately in a weird spot because he isn't big enough to be a post threat for long but he is tough.
We have a lot of those tweeners for some reason. Bass, Baby, Lloreda, etc.

He is a Brandon Bass type player minus the mid range game.
So he should stay and develop that midrange game.
JOB going pro is stupid IMO...but it's not my decision; it's his. I understand him wanting to leave...shite, he wanted to leave last year...but I don't think it's the best thing for him to do. He still needs to get better, and I think college is the best place for him to do that.
That being said, thanks for the time here, JOB...and I wish you the best in the future, wherever that may be.

I'd say 90% of people knew that was fake though... This "rumor" came out around midnight last night from an one of JOB's previous coaches... Then JOB tweets something about April Fools... I Still think he goes, but if he is staying and he was just pulling our tail I think it easily beats that.

Why do I think it's the wrong decision? Why declare for the draft when you aren't even guaranteed to be drafted. He could stay one more year and.....this may come as a shocker....but GRADUATE while also improving on his mid-range game and rebounding skills. He needs to work on his consistency.
But, he'll be fine either way. He probably won't make it in the NBA and will end up overseas making great money playing a sport he loves. If it were me, I'd stay one more season and get my degree just in case....

its not, he's reached his ceiling, even if he doesn't get drafted his value won't rise any more so why not go ahead and start getting paid in Lithuania rather than risk injury by another year @ LSU, that could be 60-70K he misses out on
he can always do online classes and come back for a final semester to graduate if it doesn't pan out

He can graduate after he finishes basketball. You only have so many years to play the game before your body says you can't do it anymore. Shaq graduated during off-seasons and such. This way he can make the money while he can. If you don't see him being first round next year, then this is a good decision.

I'm sure he's really worried about that Sports Admin. degree right now.
Now is the time for him to go. In a few years if his pro career doesn't pan out, LSU will always be here for him to come back and get his degree.
