I'm not exactly sure what picture these stats paint but these are the numbers.
In the first, second, third and fourth quarters our defense gave up 50, 53, 61, and 64 first downs respectively.
So the 4th is technically the worst for our defense, whatever the motivation for that is..
On the other end of the spectrum, our offense is somewhat similar in that it performs the worst in the 4th as well.
1st downs are 93, 121, 99, and a whopping 54.
Most of that being a difference in passing since we're usually just trying to run out the clock. only 705 passing yards.. whereas the other quarters produced 1479, 1984, and 1393.
Rushing was similary dissapointing. With only 27 first downs compared to 36, 35, and 43.
Interestingly the rush defense really slacks off in the 3rd quarter.. Allowing 5.6 yards/rush when we hover around half that the other quarters. Our pass defense apparently cracks down though and allows an impressive 45 percent completion percentage (compared to 49, 51, and 56 in the other quarters)..
All in all.. We're definitely a better first half team.. I'm sure that is partly due to the fact that we're usually dominating in the second and we do slack on defense a little and become more predictable with shorter drives.

Has there ever been a Championship game where the winning QB was pulled before or start of the 4th quarter becuz they were winning by a big margin?,..History in the making possibly?....

We leave Joe in at through the last drive of the 3rd for Rhythm purposes if the game is away.

Burrow has logged only 95 snaps in the fourth quarter or overtime, which ranks outside the top 125 QBs nationally.
START BRENNAN!!!

Any place where we can find the stats for this? I want to see where all the other QBs placed.

I also tried to find information regarding how many quarters per game Burrow averaged. I am under the assumption he played much longer than TL in order to build his stats and reach the 5,000 mark. This appears to be all about a statement to be made for LSU. Plus LSU offense is comprised of a lot of short dump offs/ slants to keep the linebackers honest and away from rushing the line. The scheme has been successful and at the same time increased his QB rating to what almost 200?

Hopefully, the trend continues. Have it in hand & let Brennan clean up .....
except for the last snap. Send him in to take the last one in the V. The Tiger fans will bring down the roof !

If the game is out of reach in the fourth Brennan will be in during the fourth. No way O will risk Joe's future just to leave him in.
I agree except if we are in victory formation I expect O to let Burrow take the last snap in the championship game.

Joe needs to stop scoring so much in the early portions of games. If he'd learn to make things closer then this stat would improve and take care of itself.
This is so freaking evident I can't believe nobody has clued him in on this yet!

Linked in the article maybe. Not sure the full data set is there.
