You sir need to venture out a little more. Try a Hope Melon if you ever pass that way. They are mostly Jubilee.

Both melons are good. Both sweet but I would lean to the yellow as being the sweetest. Hope you guys are able to get some.

He entered the portal after going to Famu, Famu won the HBCU championship. Kardell started if I remember correctly there. He reentered the portal for his last year I don't know if any team picked him up, so he might return to FAMU to finish his master's

At least he never quit. He may not have panned out for whatever reason. Lack of love of the game, poorly evaluated, probably a little of both. But he showed up and now apparently owns a business. I wish my kids had this much work ethic.
I wish him the best! It's hard these days to find a young person that's willing to get their hands dirty to make a living. Good luck to him and way to represent yourself in a first class manner!

This is akin to “If you don’t vote for me, you’re not black.”
In other words, ridiculous.

I think he was pretty well evaluated, HS evaluations are as much about potential as present skills. I never saw anything that suggested he was lazy, and he was a great teammate according to everyone who asked about that, those are some of the things I would expect to see if it was a love of the game issue. But it is possible that he realized after the injury that his window for parlaying football into a career had slipped by him and maybe he could feel a physical difference that he knew spelled the end of any legitimate shot at the pros.
I think he was just the typical bigger-than-everyone-else kid who was more athletic than he looked but relied on that more than technique in high school (because why wouldn't you). From what I read, he was making progress on technique when he had that awful injury and never really caught up. But still cheered on his teammates and by all accounts had a great and positive attitude.
I got to watch him at a 7 on 7 summer competition one year. There were 4 or 5 teams and 3 of them brought linemen to do some work while the skill guys threw. He was clearly very imposing getting off the bus but he struggled in the pass rush 1v1's against our ends. He just struggled with bending/was pretty top heavy and it made it tough on him against those speed guys who could dip underneath him. Was a really nice kid though and just kept getting back up again and again.
