Most fans are not like you SloFlo, they value a National Championship QB more than some other hot shot QB's NFL draft status.
what about on field performance?
JR > Flynn
it ain't close. look at 2006 and 2007
championships are team stats

I'm sure UT fans are more proud of Tee Martin than Peyton Manning.

i'm guessing you don't think we would have been a better team and have won the NC with Russell?

national championships are won by teams, and its a function of many things like schedule, etc
this doesn't make any individual on that team better than on a non-championship team
is 2003 Laron better than 2006 Laron?

Yes. No Tee Martin, No National Championship.

quote:SFP, that was last year, If people are dumb enough to believe Flynn actually had a fair shot competing with Russell, all I have to say is more power to them, I'm still laughing thinking about how he yanked him out after almost throwing a INT in '06, and quickly put Russell back in after he hurt his shoulder.
and he did refuse to pull flynn last year even when flynn was horrible (like USC, UK, first half of Arkie)

I can't believe that some of you defend Miles at all cost. Please, tell me how you explain these decisions by Miles:
1. Kentucky game - CScott two long TD runs in the first half. Hester gets hurt in the 1st half. After CScott's 2nd long TD run, he doesn't get to play until the last play of the last OT. Please give a worthy explanation as to why Miles would bench the player who is healthier and obviously performing better on the field for an hour and a half???
2. Auburn game - KWilliams catches a screen pass and turns it into a 30+ yard TD. He does not play the rest of the game. Please give a worthy explanation as to why Miles would bench a player who turned an ordinary play into a huge TD???
I realize that Miles has gone 3 straight years with 10+ wins. I realize that he beat Auburn, Florida, and Bama in the same season twice when Saban did it 0 times. I realize that he won a NC last year and is undefeated in bowl games with blow out wins.
Without repeating those things, explain to me why Les Miles made the above coaching decisions. There is not a good explanation for them, and saying that Miles has won a NC does not mean that he doesn't make mistakes.
This is one of his mistakes and it has cost us. Please explain this without acting like Miles is perfect.

I don't polay the What if game. It's for people like yourself & your pal sloflopro. Russell did not get it done at LSU, Flynn did.

btw, I love Miles and a coach and hope he stays for a long time. I just hope he continues to grow as a coach as he has done since he arrived here.

so, answer SloMoFo's question:
Was Laron Landry 03 better than Laron Landry 06?
