LSU fans will always think a guy is a great coach because he has ties. It might work out but usually it hasn’t.

Yeah.
Like Brian Kelly…..oh wait

Let's ride! With the circus playing out, we will be forced to go with a younger, unproven coach with potential. In today's NIL world, that may be a successful recipe, anyway. I'd support Kelvin in that endeavor!

I didn't say a politician, I said someone with experience handling off the field business. Sheppard has none as a coach.
I like Sheppard a lot, and in a different situation maybe he could be the hire, but not now.

Let the new AD and the Search Committee do their jobs. Honestly, there are 25-50 guys out there more qualified than Sheppard

I just can’t take anyone seriously that says multiple things that you’ve said just in this one thread.
How has the last few days turned grown men into 12yr old emotional girls lol
Holy frick these melts are wild

You’re a child that says “lol” to everything. I couldn’t care less what you think

Not just because he's an LSU guy. Go listen to what people say about him as a coach and as a leader of young men. Sheppard is a rising star.

The absolute irony of this statement by someone who uses “lol” to end every post.
I don’t even agree with the other guy, but my god man.

Would your opinion change if it were Sheppard with Saban as AD? Just wondering if that changes the equation on Sheppard for people.

Kelvin is far too inexperienced in general, but this mindset got you, Kelly. Just saying. What is the obsession with the coach at LSU having to have previous HC experience? It's a pretty ridiculous notion and a limiting factor to finding the actual best coach.

What does this even mean? You have a staff built to support the NIL space. You have a GM in place who he knows. He would have to make a few hires, but he also knows the landscape of who's available, to make said hires. He coached with freaking Ben Johnson, that shows that he atleast has knowledge of what an well run offensive staff should be. And we have a freaking leading edge GM who can do all the things a GM can do.
We cannot hire another old aged man. Experience is overrated in a sense of being stuck in stale ways. Give me Shep! Let's ride!

Dabo Swinney
Kirby Smart
Mike Elko
Ryan Day
Pretty sure all had zero head coaching experience when they were hired.
