The problem is that Faulk was hired purely for recruiting purposes and nothing more. He is not a proven coach and people continually even stated that he was hired for that reason and it was okay, because its just the running backs coach.
In the end, you can't do that when you waste a spot at HC with a useless coach that won't even really get involved in his own specialty position.
Secondly, great players/stars almost never make good/great coaches. They are great because of natural ability usually, not because they had to develop skills without limitations. They are going to try and coach players like they remember, which is why you see this fail so much and most great coaches either never played at a high level or were role players.
Stupid hire by coach O as usual, but it also is exacerbated by an atrocious "experienced" OL.
