Dude, just shut the frick up. How could anyone say USC is better than LSU? Based on what? The only basis there is that can be used is that LSU is undefeated and beat Washington and USC is not undefeated and lost to Washington. It has nothing to do with who you think will win or if you bet your damn house.

someone needs to be collecting tape so at the end of the season we can string it together from the "I think LSU is the most overrated team" to "I pick LSU to beat Georgia today" to whatever the hell else comes out of this dudes mouth in a youtube montage.

I just lost a lot of respect for espn. What they are doing to discredit our players victory is a disgrace. There was a lot maybes and what ifs in herbie's commentary. It was far from a good argument on how the call actually cost uga the game. the fact they gave up a forty yard kick return and couldn't tackle charles scott is the reason they lost.

They also went to the Horseshoe and beat Ohio State. USC is a really good football team. And we have not been world beaters.

FWIW
I think that game is very comparable to us winning at Georgia. The game played out the same.

I can't believe they won't say anything about UGA's kickoff coverage being so shitty.

No joke. I think Holliday received that kickoff on the 15. Guess UGA's kicker must have outkicked his coverage. Too bad.

And let ESPN not forget that LSU received the same penalty after Charles Scott's run, which gave UGA good field position. I guess the LSU defense does not deserve credit for getting the interception to secure the victory.

My point to this is the douche nozzle sits there all week and dogs us last week, and then before the game on sat picks us to win. We do and know he is dogs all again this week. Herbie

Herbie was very fair in his analysis. If cannot see that, there is no help for you anyway when it comes to understanding college football.

Easy killer. You're getting worked up over a message board debate.

I'm just saying that the notion that USC might be better than LSU is not an idiotic notion. I know we have the whole transitive property argument regarding Washington but that is flawed logic and everyone knows it. The fact that we lost to Kentucky in 2007 does not mean Georgia (who beat Kentucky) was better than us or that Missouri was better than us since they beat Arkansas and we did not.

There are no rules for pollsters and there shouldn't be. Herbstreit is saying he thinks that USC is a better football team than LSU and there's nothing crazy about that view, even if you disagree.

I agree. But I think:

Ohio State >> Georgia

and

Winning in the Horsehoe >> Winning between the Hedges

Herb. says that he has USC in his Top 5 because he "thinks they will improve" while he says LSU is "unimpressive". What?

LSU beat the team USC lost to.

Why does he not think LSU will improve?

Idiot.

Same with Musburger...he has USC in his Top 5 also, but not LSU.

No wonder I rarely watch these stupid shows.

Do you really even think he speaks his mind? ESPN tells him what to say, and how to say it.

he is so jelous of lsu and what we have done in this program. Just because his ohio state team is a bunch of snoopy female part . usc beat them so he thinks they must be good ,usc would be the 5th best team in team in the sec.

I agree that it is more about controversy and ratings.

In this case, most of the commentators (and fans) hate the arbitrariness of the "excessive celebration penalty" and think it takes the "emotion" out of the game. This gives them a good platform to rail against it - especially when it isn't taunting.

Bill King was also ranting about how horrendous the call was and went off about it, but he then said that the better team won that day and LSU outplayed the Dogs, and he mentioned GA still had their chance to step up and stop us at the end but blew it.

Yes, because Ohio State has showed time and time again that they can compete in the SEC. If they were in the SEC they would be another Georgia. I will give it to you that the Horseshoe is a tougher venue.

You have to look at the source... Herbbie Handcock is from THE O-fig-o State Univ... He is still pissy over the arse whippin OSU took at the hand of LSU. He picked OSU and talked them up sooooo high for two weeks and they just made him look like an even bigger douche (if that is possible). I find it amazing hes been able to speak with Corso all in his mouth...

Georgia and Richt always play the "victim" role when they lose or don't get what they want.
I concur. I think the UGA excessive--whole team--celebration lingers in the minds of the officials. They were a little quick to throw the flag but I am glad to see them keeping a tight rein on celebrations.
