Lamar Brown at Fullback | Direct Snap Redzone Offense

Who else thinks we see Lamar Brown in this role this year?
Charlie Weis Jr. & Kiffin have shown a penchant for running this direct snap to DT formation in short yardage situations - a MAJOR struggle for LSU this past year.
Lamar Brown is every bit more talented than JJ Pegues was, all due respect to him.
- I know we have Zach Grace who will be our H-Back this upcoming season, but I highly anticipate Lamar Brown will get a handful of carries at a minimum.
Let’s discuss. (Also see the embedded video of Lamar Brown running 20.24 MPH, he’s an animal)

Well Deuce Gerald’s was a RB in HS so I feel as though he might fit the mold better

If his max is 20 mph, he could possibly run a 4.5 40.

I will play with this thread.
Speed isn’t the top need for a fullback.
Versatility is.
I think Malachi Thomas and Zach Grace might get first look on this, but the actual position might be used less than 25 times this season.
I think the TEs are going to get first look because they might have proven ability to combine the combo of
Block
Catch
Run
If Lamar and Deuce do it better, then fine. If any of these four guys mentioned can create more gameplan and also the bait or its reciprocal where linebackers forget that they need to cover these guys when they run patterns, then Lane will have fun with them.
Same thing can happen with two tight ends and the most devastating g ones are the guys that can block(first) then run (second). That combo of TE, let alone two of them is deadly.

I've never understood how teams don't do what Kiffin, Saban, and a few other good coaches do. Bring in some extra OL, your biggest DT's, and run that crap right behind those big boys.
Watching LSU be so bad at 3rd and short the last few years has been stressful to say the least.

Honestly that would be perfect, since he has no problem blocking and was a great OL.
That's a great observation, are you Lane Kiffin?
