Yep. I'm not saying welter should be ahead of anyone. At all.

Simply that people need to realize that the coaches do things for a reason and just because a dude finally gets good enough to start, doesn't mean he should have been starting all along.

I don't think he was ever asked to do this.

I would take Welter over Jake Holland any day. Holland is much worse.

People bashing Welter are funny. He is the only one that can tackle. Everyone else misses or tries to strip. If Welter has a chance to make a tackle he will.

If the ball carrier happens to run into welter and fall down he will be credited with a tackle. I fixed it for you. I really think the d's inability to compensate for welter/loston being out of position on every play is our downfall. Think about it barrow/freak/ego and our corners didn't look near as bad when we actually had an athlete/tackling machine at mlb. Any defense especially this one has to be strong up the middle we have the big guys up front but we get gashed up the middle because welter looks like a tackling dummy getting blocked at practice there is no effort to get off the block.

Welter started for a reason.Welter knows the defense and Louis does not. Louis is a little better athlete and can make plays behind the line that Welter can't. Welter is too hesitant and waits for the running back to come to him but is bad at shedding blocks. If we had a Kevin Minter on the team who knew the defense he would have started. Certain "folk" have it in for Welter!

I want to see Lamar moved to OLD or RB. He's not a mike. His athleticism is outstanding though and his sideline to sideline ability should help. He can actually cover fairly well too.

he played and started a handful of games at Sam last yr. he didn't do much, and even got benched for Tahj (who hadn't played all yr) in the bowl game. not saying he can't improve, but he's looked more active at Mike than at an outside spot.

and if Louis is starting now, it means he earned it. I'll take athletic prowess and someone who can make a play every now and then over Welter.

Every middle linebacker is asked to do this.
