When Les goes up to ESPN, do they ever talk about his greatness as a coach? No. They talk about clock management and grass eating. Look at any list that lists the top current coaches in the country and you'll see that Les, deservedly so, is nowhere near the top.
Yes, because espn always covers the nuts and bolts and ignores the kooky or topical stories. They really have paid attention to the NFL lately and avoided Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson...wait
I guess a magazine's rankings of coaches matters more than records, national championships, conference championships, top 10 finishes, bowl wins, etc...

8. If you feel like it for any reason. Because it is a game you paid for so you should be able to leave when ever the hell you want
That's fine, but the next time a stadium ranking list is done by a major media outlet and Tiger Stadium is downgraded, I don't want to hear any complaints. Because the trends being what they are, that day is coming.

Such loyalty is what allowed Mack Brown to drive Texas into mediocrity before anyone did anything about it. Good job. You are the sole cause of all of LSU's problems.
Yep, a fan that pays for tickets, attends every game and stays the entire game no matter what is the sole cause of LSU's problems.
Even moreso than people that go on message boards and complain about every aspect of our team, stadium, players, coaches, etc...The people that trash the coach for every mistake and want to fire him after every loss. Trash the players when they are giving their all and probably persuade recruits to go elsewhere. Those people are helping the program not the ones that support it.

Probably. I bet he paints his upper body, wears a purple and gold wig, and screams at everyone when they sit down during time outs.

Well, you'll get a ton of hate for this, but I agree.
Ditto, and this comes from an LSU fan who wishes I could be in BR to go to some home games. There are some extremely rude people on this message board, and I knew you would get grief for this post. Sorry!

Just curious for all those who say TS is going down the crapper: what period would you define as the best of TS?

I will gladly follow your suggestions as soon as you pay for my tickets.
Posted on 9/24/14 at 1:22 pm to PurpleandGoldmember
If I paid for my ticket I'll come and go as I please, end of story.

Schedule good games and provide a high quality of play and the stadium will be full.

keep hearing this but I didn't see it and I was there. Some people did leave at halftime, but most stayed until the end of the 3rd.
Not quite dude!

People need to realize this hurts recruiting as well.
What do you think goes through a recruit's head when they see thousands bail on their team just after half-time?

I'm not sure there's a particular time frame, but it's obvious LSU is part of a larger trend where college football fans around the country are leaving games early or not going at all because they can watch the game on their big screen TVs.
The problem is that it's most noticeable with Tiger Stadium because Tiger Stadium has been renowned for fan noise for so long. As the saying goes, "if you're taking flak, it means you're over the target." When the fan base and the stadium most over the fan noise target starts deteriorating, it gets noticed.
Also, I do think we've been spoiled. For all the crap Les Miles gets, he has 7 10+ win seasons in 9 years, 3 BCS bowl game appearances, two BCS title game appearances and the 2007 title. That probably puts him in the top 10 coaches nationwide, and that's not including the Saban era before him. A program that hasn't had that sustained success could have a louder atmosphere because it's so new and people aren't accustomed to it. Which is why I think a stadium downgrade is more possible than ever.

Disagree slightly here. Of course there won't be noise when we play SHS, ULM, etc. There also won't be too much noise when we are getting our teeth kicked in. The stadium was quite loud especially at the start of the 3rd quarter after the defensive TD was our first sign of life the entire night. People that think TS used to be nonstop noise as we got the shite kicked out of us like we did the other night by Spurrier's Florida teams are either too young to remember, were not there, or are delusional.

You cant convince any of these half-wits of this. They know everything. Then they go internet badazz mode..."nobody gone tell me wut to do!" Nobody should HAVE TO tell you what to do.
The stadium was def louder before they ever added the East Upper. 79,000 were making a hell of a lot more noise than most of the pathetic pussies who come to the stadium now...and sit on their hands the whole game.
On that note....

I've got a novel idea:
The one and only rule:
1. I live in America and can do whatever I damn well please, along with everybody else.
I don't go to many games, so I'm not going to leave early when I do, BUT, I do have a problem with people trying to tell others how to live their lives.
