like those catches against UK where he bailed Lee out on questionable throws?

Show me where any of those catches were the result of good route running...oh, that's right they weren't. You guys keep wanting to make this as if I'm trying to save Jarrett Lee. I don't give a shite about that since he is not on the 2012 LSU football team. Just like I could give a shite how poorly Karnell Hatcher played at LB. Both are gone. Let's focus on the players who will be here and expected to perform in 2012.

I think proper positioning/route running is the biggest knock on Shep and why he doesn't catch many balls.

he also tries to make shoestring catches on the run, instead of going down and make the catch, and move the chains.

He's not my favorite LSU player. I have him as the worst offense player, and Loston as the worst defense starter.

I hope other people beat out Shepard.
I know he's fast. Hand him the ball on inside sweeps. I liked that play the 3 or 4 times they ran it.

I don't know if it was the first or second interception.

But on them one that Marc Barron fair caught and returned inside the 10, you can see JL literally dive out of the way, so that Barron doesn't plow through him.

He olayed Barron to the end zone.

That's why he saw so little of the field the rest of the way.

It was an embarrassment to football, to team; it was horrible.

No he should not have played on 1/9.

Should have been the best QB on the team--Mettenberger.

I still laugh my arse off at an AArdvark guy I knew that got his mother board fried at red flag from screwing with a BUFF, after being strictly told not to in the brief.

Shep Also made a big catch in that game, if it weren't a terrible pass from JJ it would have been a TD. Just think if Ford wouldn't have stepped outta bounds in OT, the game would have ended 13-6 and No Rematch for Bama. But whatever. woulda, coulda, shoulda.

The ball was under thrown and to the only LSU R getting double covered.

Shep was passing the Bama 45 and Bama got the pick at the Bama 47. Maybe he should gone inside the Bama DB pulling coverage on Shep, but the Bama help DB was all over that throw.

Our R's at times didn't help our QBs last year, but this pick doesn't come close to falling on shep. imo

I'm a big Lee supporter, and that throw was all on Lee. Just like his other INT that game. His mistakes that game were inexcusable.

You're also not considering that Shep's route was simply a clear out to get the safety out the way and put the receiver at the top the field in one on one.
I think it was more of a clearout to get the running back 1 on 1 with that backer on the chute route coming outta the back field, which was wide open BTW.

That was just a terrible pass right to the Safety. Lee was rattled. It was 3rd and long, crowd was loud and he dropped the snap and tried to make a play which ended up being a poor decision.

I don't see how Shep has anything to do with the play. Ball should not have been thrown, especially to the inside of the receiver. Lee telegraphed that throw.

Oh, and I am expecting BIG things from Shep this year!

I'm a Lee fan but once Lee got popped for the first time he played scared the rest of the time he was in there.

That's so much bs. He played a total of 11 plays. He was responsible for 2 firstdowns in those 11 plays. He got a bad snap, and rushed a throw. Did not see the field again for a long time, and when he did, first play they have him throwing fairly deep over the middle again. You don't like him...fine...I didn't think he was great either....but a hell of a lot better than the alternative. Just give it a rest on the hits thing.

It's hilarious when i read things like this from armchair qb's. Hell, the pros make bad interceptions all the time. Lee was just on a different pedestal and people SOME people were waiting all year for him to finally screw up....and when he did.....full attack mode. Sad really. LSU finally had a pretty darn good, efficient offense for most of the year last year.....but that never mattered to SOME.

Yes, shep was wide open....way wide open...and JJ underthrew him by a good 10 yards...but still got credit for a big completion.

huh? so if lsu wins by a fieldgoal it's a rematch...but if they had won by 6 points....no rematch? ok

Wrong. Bama was getting the Mulligan regardless.

Move on, and prep your anus for the 4 team playoff system where Bama will be granted Mulligans annually, along with USC, ND, Michigan, Ohio State, Florida, Oklahoma and Texas.

Remember when you're recruiting a guy and they label you an athlete? Well, that's what Shepard is, an athlete. Not a QB, not a WR, not a RB, not a football player......an athlete. And his playing time reflects that.
