when did saban (or miles before 08 for that matter) get to face a 5-6 win AU team on the road?

You can't look at the end results to paint your picture..........Auburn's record wasn't determined when the game took place........

uh, i listed the criteria

we lost to our 2 great teams in 2006 and blew out no good teams.

1. beating a great team
2. blowing out a good team

and in response to people bringing up ND, i didn't bring up our win against illinois in 2001 either

I mean we've only won at Neyland like 5 times and he is blowing it off as if it was a Tennessee Tech.

That's his problem. It was only our second win in Knoxville and Tennessee was in the top 10 at kickoff for that November game.

mike gundy had a better year last year than miles ever had at OSU, if memory serves

so we should we hire gundy?

Miles did hire Gundy. Another great hire by Les, to build up Okie State's program.

How was Gundy's 9-4 team better than Miles 9-4 team in 2003 ?

that's the only way to put it in context

fwiw, i told everyone before the year that AU would be fricking shitty, and i said it during that game also

their O was ranked in the 100s when we faced them and they had struggled in their first 2 games

oh yea i'm sure UTenn in 2005 was also a great team b/c they were ranked highly when we played them also

IRRELEVANT

UTenn was also around top 10 in 2005 when we played, and that was one shitty team

AU was ranked at least 20 last year also and they blew

hell LSU was top 10 when we played AU. are you going to say that the LSU-AU game was really a battle of 2 top-15ish teams?

How about Ole Miss in 2001 ? Or Auburn in 2002 ? Those were some fine efforts in those game.

WRONG. Howard Schellenberger built Miami, after Saban's Dad fricked it up. Oh yeah & Jimmy Johnson?? Dennis Erickson?? I know this was waaaaaay before your time. Only a youngster like you would think Butch Davis built Jack shite at Miami.

Miami fans would rather win 80% than 71% sorry.

Miami fans would rather see a team with schollie limitations while on probation improve its talent base and record than see it fall from the best CFB team of all time to a 4-5 loss program

No shell game,Slow. When we played Auburn in 2002, that was a borderline horrible team--just like you asked. Rumors were all over this state about Tuberville's future. Auburn had just lost two in a row:to Florida a week after LSU had won down there ,and on that same day Arkansas beat them in Auburn, 42-17.

Coker had 1 season with more than 3 loses, his last.

Like it or not you can't accurately compare Saban/Miles until this year because... he's using his boys etc... I think he will be better.

In Saban's early years he was turning around a losing culture. In Miles early years, like it or not, he inherited a winning program.

IMO, the two things that makes Miles look inept nationally and causes some to doubt him are:

1) Some of the things he says in press conferences and...

2) Some play calling.

For example, be honest now... we throw long against AU with about 10 seconds left on the clock. Byrd makes the catch, place goes wild. But, let's say he doesn't make the catch, all of sudden, there is no time left on the clock for a sure fg.

I'm NOT bashing Miles, just pointing out why some question him.

First of all, and if someone else has already pointed this out then i apologize. But look at the video again, there were about 4 seconds left on the clock when byrd caught that ball, the ref just took a long time signaling a TD. So even if he misses that ball, we get a chance at a field goal. So there goes that logic. And since when has any good head coach not made some pretty bad calls, what about pete carroll's call to go for it on 4th and 2? That lost them the championship. Do you really think saban would have won that game against florida 2 years ago? Or called that behind the back play to david against south carolina? Or all the times miles has successfully tried the onside kick? Yes miles is a risk taker, and sometimes those blow up in your face, but i would rather lose taking risks than lose playing it safe.

that AU team won 9 games

they had 4 losses. 1 to a badass USC team. 1 to a mediocre Arky team. 1 to SEC champion UGA. 1 to a so-so UF team in OT

that's not a horrible team

Like I said it's irrelevant Auburn's record because even when they were shitty we still struggled to win there.
