Miles is like a brand new corvette that won't go faster than 55mph. The car looks good, everyone(for the most part) likes the car and respects the car knowing it could travel well above 100 mph if the gas pedal was just pushed harder. But the driver doesn't know how to text and drive. He can't drive and operate the radio and before he knows it, he's losing to a Ford Focus in a race.
I hope it doesn't happen, but LSU is poised for the wheels to come off. Sorry for the pun.
All you "but we're 5-0er's" if you have watched any team sport longer than a few yrs then you know there are bigger problems than just getting the play called correctly.
Our ability to coach has been lost. Our ability to plan is gone.
Swagger comes from being prepared and confident. We have none right now and change must happen or mediocrity at 8-9 wins per year will continue. If u r happy with 8-9 wins, then keep him.

agreed he should get a chance to get the offense situated. Took me a few days but now in a much less emotional state and he deserves a chance
So how many more seasons do you want to give him to do this?

It seems to me that a good recruiter would do a good job recruiting Quarterbacks. What we have does not equal good recruiting.
right, so getting two 4 start recruits in two years isnt a good job of recruiting?

I think many still suffer from a Saban-Hangover
Have you seen our games? Have you heard the OUTSIDE opinion of our football program lately? I hate Saban with a passion! I spent most of the last 2+ years defending Miles to EVERY college football fan I spoke to. No mas! We win in spite of him. Look at the facilities around campus, look at the pressure on these young high school kids to go to LSU and make thier families proud, look at the national exposure we get on a weekly basis. Miles is not the only guy out there who can recruit kids to come to LSU, trust me.

This is what will happen: An OC change will be made this year. The offense will improve and Miles will still be the Head Coach at LSU.
You can continue to be miserable, bitching and moaning about everything, or you can shut up and support the team. The players support him, why can't you? Oh yeah...you like to be miserable and complain about everything...that's why.

I'll be eating my words about how negative you and many other tiger fans are right now? Does that mean you are going to suddenly become a positiger and support the team? I hope I do have to eat those words. That would be good for everyone.

Why do we have to wait untill this costs us a game, before people realize that Miles simply isn't a very good coach...oh wait, it has already happened. Last year at Ole Miss. I guess some will never learn.
What do you call a brilliant guy who can manage the clock and runs a terrific offensive system? A coach in the WAC.
Miles has demonstrably proven he is a top tier coach. He has flaws. He is a doofus, especially at press conferences. He is a bit too loyal for his own interests (but not enough for career suicide - see the Malveto experiment). He makes bizarre statements and bizarre choices.
He has strengths as well. His team finds ways to win football games. He recruits extraordinarily well. He has a good eye for talent and recruits seem to trust him. His players will run through a wall and into hell for him. These things aren't easily replaced by the "Genius Coach of the Month" gang. If the guys on everybody's short list were so great, why aren't they coaching somewhere? This is a big money business and virtually ANYBODY who is not coaching a BCS conf. team (and a top half BCS conf. team at that) would be a HUGE gamble.
Please - seriously - we should place a moratorium on any replacement talk until and if LSU loses three games this season, and even then it might be premature. Anything short of that is LUNACY. NOBODY FIRES THEIR WINNINGEST COACH FOR WINNING.

I wonder if there is any general increase or decrease in student-athlete academic performance during Miles tenure.
Some of his qualities as a HC are certainly admirable.
His ability to recruit well, connect with players and motivate players speaks well to his ability to be a CEO type coach. When many schools continue to have off the field disciplinary issues and allow a thug appearance in an effort to win games, LSU and Miles have doen a good job of maintaining a relatively clean record.

Yeah, hopefully we can schedule Lafayette High, Lee High, and Shreveport High and go to 8 - 0, but then again Lafayette is supposed to have an up year

We have another top-notch recruiting calls headed our way and don't need to mess that up
Uh, did you not notice that we lost WR commitments Justin Hunter (the guy that made the nice catch for Tennessee) and Mike Davis (Texas top receiver until he got hurt) LAST YEAR BECAUSE OF OUR ANEMIC OFFENSE?

We have issues on offense. I believe Miles will make the necessary changes in the offseason to get our offense fixed.
Why didn't get this fixed last off season. So next year, he will frick up something else, but then you will come back and say wait till the off season, he will get it fixed. Right.

Been hearing the same BS for 2 years now. Most arguments about why Miles is so good are about recruiting and hiring Chavis. Since he does those better than game day coaching then make him the head of HR.
