You do understand that that statement was sarcastic? I mean you do, right?
yes, which is what makes it a great quote.

Some random thoughts on Les's speech:
1) Few if any seem to mind when he ridiculed then Pac-10 before the start of '07 or his "have a great day" speech before the start of the SECCG.
2) Likewise, his statement about LaFell's winning TD catch-n-run against Auburn in '08 (something along the lines of "which he (LaFell) interpreted as a TD") sounded odd but it was during good times. No one complained.
3) Admittedly, Les says some strange things but I don't care if he slurs his speech, scrambles his syntax, mispronounces every other word, and does interviews with craw fish drool running off his chin and onto his shirt AS LONG AS WE SEE EXCELLENCE ON THE FIELD.

Everyone understands what he said.
The problem is with the way he said it.
Why couldnt he have just said, "The windy weather caused some Inclompete long throws today."
I mean frick, this guy just begs to get made fun of with the idiotic sayings he throws out there.

No that SCREAMS intense moment a few seconds after losing a big game that he knows he should have won.
You have obviously never taken part in a live sporting event.

For the Rantards that have no reading comprehension or understanding of coach speak let me translate:
"Our players on the offensive side of the team executed well; the passer’s—also known as a quarterback—timing was good, our blockers were able to keep the tacklers from tackling by blocking, the routes were run properly by the route runners—we like to call them receivers—but there was just this strong easterly wind swirling through the state—according to Doppler radar—and some of our plays in the stadium—which happens to be in the state—were affected by it, as evidenced by the fact that some balls that were thrown by the thrower—another term for quarterback—got up into the wind and didn't make it to their intended target as a result."
Now do we all comprehend?

We certainly do have a real problem and it is indeed getting worse. More idiots like you who have no clue are trying to be cute.

The essence of what he said of course was correct, the eloquence was not. It just sounds like he is trying too hard to be clever. If he's not, and he really thinks/talks that way and that's natural for him, that explains alot about his coaching style as well and accounts for some of the dyslexia we've seen from him on the field.
