Les has a responsibility to his bosses, his team, and the fans to get the team ready to play. He's being paid million of dollars to put a winning product on the field. Last night, he failed.
I'm not one to demand a coaches job from one bad game, but Les better get this ship righted, and fast. It's what he's being paid to do. Put the right players on the field, coach them up, make sure we have the best asst. coaches and coordinators, and a sound game plan.
Les has failed this year on 2 out of those 3 things at least in 3 games (FLA, UGA, and Troy). No one is going to fire a guy one year after winning the NC and the Rantards who are screaming from their computers are only white noise, but he has heard the booing and he has seen the empty seats last night, and if that doesn't kick his butt into gear then Houston, we have a problem.

he did fail at this last time

lets hope les makes a good decision this go around and doesn't pick a coach that cries at gridiron club and bengal belle meetings.

I reckon he didn't find the right one slo. That is all i can get from what went down. You got any idea why LSU couldn't land a dc after Pelini announced he was leaving? I can only venture to say it was because of short notice.

miles' preference was to promote the 2-headed wonder, i believe
it just wasn't announced for a long time so that miles could get extra in-home visits

Maybe those extra visits cost him a chance at a dc? But I think he realizes he needs to change the situation and get a good man in here.

i think he wanted these 2 guys as his DC
he had tons of time to get a DC. bo p announced he was leaving before our bowl game

If I remember right he announced this co thing sometime in the spring no? If the man or men they were looking at were under contract that would hold things up.

Ask Nebraska about that.

I've backed Les since he led the team on that fantastic winning streak after the loss to Tennesse in '05. I'm a Miles man. However, he needs to have his ears scorched by the fans after the worst 40 minutes of Tiger football I've seen in a long time. The man is paid $4 million a year and for that money, getting run out of TS by Troy State is inexcusable. Yeah, great win and all, I'll give him whatever credit is due for pulling that rabbit out of his hat. But this doesn't excuse the fact that we should never have been embarassed like that in the first place. Absolutely atrocious preparation, motivation, execution, you name it. Remember: $4 million per year, and he's not paid that princely sum to get destroyed by a Sun Belt team that lost to Eastern Kentucky a couple weeks ago.

Was it our preperation or Troy's desire? I don't care what their conference is, they came to win. That is the name of this game.
Why is it so hard to give credit to the opposition for what they do? Are we as fans that condicending about who we play?
This Tiger team came out in the second half and played their best and I am sure the coach had something to do with that. But, give it up to the team for showing their character and will they displayed in this game. That I believe comes from their coach. You might not agree and that is fine with me.

I don't care how much money you make. People make mistakes and stupid decisions all the time. I think he knows that he made mistakes with how he tried to handle his QB and tried to control his QB's mistakes. No one can play as tight as Lee was in the first half. Also, I believe he has learned to quit favoring the older players and play the players that can help win (secondary). I will not give up until he forces me to.

Troy played a magnificent game, they deserve a lot of credit for kicking our arses up and down the field for most of the game. But Miles deserves heat for the abysmal play of the entire team for three quarters. If the team had been coached and motivated to play near its capabilities, Troy would never have been 4TDs ahead of us. So yeah, the Trojans deserve credit, but Miles has to shoulder some genuinely deserved blame for having the team sleepwalking for 40 minutes.

With $3.5M I can think of several I'd prefer having. MILES IS OVERPAID-- AND OVER PRAISED on this board. How may seasons do we have to hear his repetition before and after games. Mark my words, within 3-5 years we all will be saying the same thing. How may of you will jump on board when he does not make changes in the staff after this season.
