Bump....
A friend in Denver called and said talk radio again is all over the Les to CU thing and that Bill McCartney and Eric Bienemy (former player, current coach) are putting on a full court press to get Les and other members of the MNC era back in place.
So to those with as much insight to CU as we have to LSU (very little) the Miles things is far from dead from their perspective.
FWIW, this comments in this thread are hilarious pre-Alabama win.

with the heat off Les and a potential NC run next season they'd have to put together one hell of a package to lure him away now.
I'd say mccartney coming out of retirement is more likely now.
UM still looms though....

I don't think this happens, but if it does I think LSU should hire (or try to hire) Gary Patterson, and not look back.

Agreed. It seemed like a remote chance before but now it would be totaly ridiculous. Interesting still how one person's trash is another's treasure and how quickly attitudes change.

i know most would like to see this happen, but i would hate to see les go. sorry i'm a fan even though he frustrates the crap out of me sometimes

I'd be surprised if Les when to CU. I think where all the talk is coming from is the fact that CU enters the Pac 10 next year. It's a fresh start for CU and I'm sure they are wanting to pony up some big bucks to take their program to the next level. I expect a serious offer without a pay cut to Les. I just don't think Les would leave LSU for a lesser program.
Now what will be interesting is CU might smoke out how serious Michigan might be in Les. I'm sure that is one of the reasons why CU has gotten a head start on looking for a new coach.

well with that win Les likely has another roll over coming which gives him more long term security, and that was about the only thing CU had going for it.

I'm not a big CU fan but I lived in the area for many years and have a number of friends who are big CU fans and close to the program. People are pissed. Really pissed about the shape of the program. It is very uncharactristic for them to fire in mid-season and don't doubt for a second they are very serious about righting the ship. Will they be successful? Time will tell.

If Miles goes to CU, he will be going into obscurity. At LSU, he is becoming a legend. A CU, not so much. He would improve CU's program, recruit reasonably well, etc., but he might as well go back to OSU.
Frankly I don't see it. He has one of the truly plum jobs in all of college football right now. Why would he take several steps down to go to CU. Folks at CU are more interested in another kind of grass than grass on the football field.

I'm surprised to see as many LSU fans hoping this rumor is true as I do (in this thread)
The Ole Miss, PSU, and Tenn games were games that infuriated me... but that's three games in six years
Les Miles is competing successfully with the best talent and coaches in the country - and he's been doing it for six years now. Those results speak for themselves and some fans need to step back and consider if they've gone a little batshit crazy on the subject
In spite of his unusual/goofy personality Les has competed with success and represented LSU well for years now. There should be little doubt that he cares for LSU and the state of Louisiana and that he cares passionately about putting a good product on the field.

Les to CU Talk
I'm in Denver today and it's the primary thing they're discussing on sports talk radio, that Miles loves Colorado, and it's rumored he has been in discussion with the athletic department and board of regents, McCartney and Miles are very close and McCartney is pushing Miles on the powers that be, etc.
Sorry to beat a dead horse but figured I'd share. Callers seem to be in favor of the move. Hawkins is already being discussed in the past tense.

There is a 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000% chance Miles goes to Colorado. You do the math on that.

Friend of a friend (on the "Board" of course) told me Dallas and Colorado both are interested in Les and LSU would help him along if he wants to go. He also said Gruden and Patterson have contacted LSU bigwigs to express interest if Les leaves.
