Incoming talent? We haven’t had any in three years!

This is an AWFUL take. His first recruiting class (including transfers) was ranked 17th (national) and 5th (SEC). His 2nd recruiting class (including transfers) was ranked 47th (nationally) and 10th (SEC). His 3rd recruiting class (including transfers) was ranked 22nd (nationally) and 5th (SEC). He has not even finished the season on the bubble with 2 top 25 classes and 1 top 50 class. It's clear it's coaching at this point, the talent has been there to at least be a bubble team by now.

I think the recruiting classes only matter if you retain them. He lost a lot recruits through the portal like Phillips, Cook and Miller, and maybe now Ward. It was bad luck to lose Collins and Reed to injuries, and when you don’t have quality depth, you can’t handle that. Mike Williams may have regressed or have some other unknown problem. Some transfers didn’t translate to the higher competition like Justice Williams, Stewart and Hill. We have talent, but most is young and we lack depth. CMM may be to blame for the culture that may have led to that lack of depth, but that isn’t an indictment of his coaching. That is an indictment of the culture. I’m not saying he’s a great coach, but I think he has had some bad luck.

If we win 2 or 3 SEC games what are we saving the class for? Cenac is already gone. It looks like he made a good move from his standpoint.

If McMahon had a bad year, good year then we’d see possibly some potential in another season but nothing but cellar dwellers in the last few years doesn’t seem to give anyone with any common sense to have confidence in this mid major coach.. in other words he’s not cut out to compete in the SEC period…

Finishing at the bottom of the SEC in year 3 is a reason for immediate firing.

He went .500 last season. Im good with keeping him another year.

Coaches aren’t going to want the job if you dont give them time.
