I think most would agree that this auburn team got better as the year progressed.
Isn't this how it SHOULD be though?

This. I dogged them early in the season for getting as much credit as they did but this is not the same team that played MSU and Clemson close. These guys are flat out scary right now.

UO has seen someone like Fairley. Stephen Paea of Oregon State is just as much of a monster in the middle. Stanford is all bulk, so it's not like the Ducks haven't seen big teams, it's just that the Duck philosophy is a little different. They look for speed. Those big boys get plenty tired quick and if they can't substitute, they make mistakes and all a fast back like James or Barner needs is one mistake and they are in for 6. This might not work against everyone, but it has so far this year.

The Duck OL doesn't power the DL off the line, they guide them to open a crease. The QB looks for the crease, either gives the ball or keeps it to take advantage of where the crease is. When you have sprinters in the backfield, a small crease is all you need. The fast OL then is on the LB's and the backs are making big yards. Does it work all the time? No. But it only takes one play for James or Barner to be gone for first down yardage or more.

It will be interesting to see these two teams play. In some ways they are very alike. Auburn has the big QB and we have the dangerous RB's. We have a slight edge on defense, but not enough to be a difference maker unless it comes down to conditioning.

I look forward to seeing you guys next year.

Auburn is going to skullfrick Oregon. You heard it here first. Their schedule (Ducks) is a joke compared to AU. We're keeping it in the dysfunctional family once again.

Go War Eagles!
Go Cammy Cam!
Go SEC!!!

I think the NC match up is going to two of the best teams in college now. Sure, things like cheating [fairley] and weak conference [ducks] can be debated, but pound for pound Auburn and Oregon are two powerhouse teams with EXCEPTIONAL TALENT. As someone mentioned before, Oregon is probably the fastest team out there and Auburn has the best QB in college without a doubt. Its going to be an epic NC match up that I cannot wait to watch. Also we will definitely get a preview of what to expect of the ducks next year since they will be playing the best team from our conference. Good for miles to plan ahead.

All sounds good until they get hit in the mouth.

Fairly is a monster with a bad attitude. I doubt Oregon has seen anyone close to his talent. He is scary and will body slam your QB.

Cam Newton is a new prototype cyborg QB. Newton can't be defended as shown against Alabama, which loaded the box to stop his running and went up 24 - 0. Malzahn adjusted and went to the pass, game over. By the way Auburn has some track guys on offense as well.

This game will be won on defense. Auburn has gone through the SEC crucible (LSU, Alabama, Arkansas, South Carolina, MSU, Miss, Ga) undefeated. They are battle tested. An undefeated SEC team in the title game is hard to bet against.

Look, I'm pulling for the Ducks but c'mon man. That's like saying you're ready for Cam because you played Terrelle Pryor in the Rose Bowl.
