A series of questionable play calls after that INT return.
1st down: run up the gut with Ware got no where as it had all night.

It is going to be interesting. I honestly don't know what to expect but I don't think it will be as conservative as the first game.

I'll never understand why out offense doesn't utilize more screen passes. Maybe its because Jefferson doesn't have much touch on those passes (see the pass that nearly got Shep killed) but in a 3rd and long like they just had, it might have been a good play call.

Miles seemed content to play it safe and not take many risks on 11/5. The offense was pretty basic with no risky passes called (seemed Lee made those bad throws on his own accord). I'm anxious to see if we call a few deep or even intermediate passes early on.

be that as it may, it was 3rd and 11 and our offense had been pretty safe and vanilla all game. If Jefferson could get the ball there, IMO its a low risk possibly high reward play.

I think a big part of that was Bamas struggles with special teams and the lack of TDs in the game.
He was fine getting in a field goal kicking contest with Bama and it paid off. Tommorow if someone scores a touchdown in the first half i think well have a completely different mindset for Miles

Saban blitzes less and plays more zone. Something he learned coaching in the NFL when he switched to a 3-4.

My guess would be that we didn't think it would work against Bama. Regardless of what you read here, the LSU coaching staff knows more about what they need to do more than the "experts" on here. I know it's hard to believe but it's true.
