LSU isn’t finishing 8-10 with four 5 stars

Stingley
Thomas
Emery
Sopsher

And it’s a good chance Marcell Brooks is a 5 Star come February

To compete for SEC championships consistently, we will need either top 5 classes every year or the best coach in college football, or both. Alabama and Georgia are distancing themselves from the pack in recruiting.

Did I miss something? Did Emery and Sopsher commit to LSU?

It actually looks like we’re 8th now in the composite which surprises me because no one has mentioned it. We were getting team ranking updates almost daily a few weeks ago, I wonder what happened.

That’s why I bumped this

Not when 4 of the teams are in the sec and 3 in the West

Plus we have the worst head coach of them all

The point is we shouldn’t have been scared of faggies before. Now we should

Well we actually have to get a couple of those guys first, and hope that none of our current guys decommit.

I mean, it would be different if we actually had a player be committed to LSU and then flip at the last minute, right?

You mean flip like Alabama's 5-star linebacker and 4-star defensive lineman they lost last signing class? Saban taught the UGA coach so well he can't even turn him in like they did LSU when they talked to their own recruit during a dead period.

When was the last time LSU had a commit flip in the same year as signing day?

I was simply saying don't count guys as part of the class before they're even committed and that would go for every school, not just LSU.

Congrats man !!!! Great job !!!!

LSU is doomed. Here is an article from the guy who heads the LSU 24/7 site (I think). Again, LSU is out of luck forever !!! NFL players are SO OVERRATED !!!!

This is an article done by the 24/7 guy (Shea Dixon) who runs the LSU page/site or whatever it is called.

This is just the LOWEST rated recruit for each class the last 10 years excluding JUCOs and special teams players - kickers, long snappers, punters.

quote:

2008: Lavar Edwards No. 959 overall prospect, No. 32 in Louisiana
He was a fifth round pick in the NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans

2009: Josh Williford No. 1,066 overall prospect, No. 34 in Alabama
Injuries forced him to call off his football career. He served out his final year on campus as a student coach for the Tigers in 2013.

2010: Alfred Blue No. 66 RB, No. 758 overall prospect, No. 19 in Louisiana
a sixth round NFL Draft selection by the Houston Texans, where he was on roster from 2014-17.

2011: Ronald Martin No. 43 CB, No. 624 overall prospect, No. 24 in Louisiana
signed by the Seattle Seahawks as an unrestricted free agent following the 2015 NFL Draft. He’s since spent time in the NFL with the Seahawks, the New York Jets, the Baltimore Ravens and two stints with the Indianapolis Colts.

2012: Kavahra Holmes No. 86 WR, No. 763 overall prospect, No. 30 in Louisiana
announced he was transferring out of LSU

* A side note, the second-lowest ranked recruit in LSU’s class that year was Jalen Mills, who went on to start immediately as a true freshman at LSU and was a starter in the secondary for the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles this past year.

2013: Duke Riley No. 42 OLB, No. 539 overall prospect, No. 22 in Louisiana
he went on to be selected in the third round of the NFL Draft with the No. 75 overall pick by the Atlanta Falcons.

2014: Russell Gage No. 74 ATH, No. 898 overall prospect, No. 32 in Louisiana
LSU’s Pro Day in April catapulted him up NFL Draft boards, with many mock drafts pointing to Gage as a late-round steal for an NFL team.

2015: Foster Moreau No. 74 TE, No. 1,984 overall prospect, No. 86 in Louisiana
a multi-year starter at tight end who is now one of the team’s veteran leaders - and certainly a name in the mix to take over the No. 18 jersey. Moreau’s slated to start at tight end again for LSU this fall.

2016: Lloyd Cushenberry No. 82 OG, No. 1,522 overall prospect, No. 71 in Louisiana
Fast forward two years and Cushenberry is now the heir apparent to Ethan Pocic and Will Clapp as the team’s next starting center, a position he took the first-team reps at this spring.

2017: Justin Jefferson No. 308 WR, No. 2,164 overall prospect, No. 76 in Louisiana
It appears Jefferson will be a starter for the Tigers during his sophomore season next fall.

And none of these players were ranked in the top 20 at their positions. Even the five that have ALREADY played in the NFL. If Gage gets drafted (HE DID) that will be six of the 10 lowest rated recruits to play in the NFL. With Moreau, Cushenberry and Jefferson still playing at LSU.

Hey Ree, did you act this way when Saban or Miles were the head coach? If not, why not?

Or are you acting this way just because o is the head coach? If so, why?

So Drew Brees & Marques Colston didn’t Rank NO STAR’s. So These two Men carried a Franchise to the Super Bowl BUT...Completely missed in the Recruiting Game!

NFL's leading rusher LE’VEON BELL was a 2-star Recruit...don’t let the system dictate who you are...#Grind

LE’VEON BELL was a ???? Recruit...don’t let the system dictate who you are...#Grind

Greedy was 219th player in the nation and 20th best cornerback. He should not even be on the LSU team. Willie Allen was ranked higher and should be a 1st round draft pick in the upcoming draft. Greedy will probably redshirt again.

There is also a rumor on the recruiting board that LSU is going to flip a 5-star OT. The way it is being stated, it may have already happened and it is just being kept on the down-low.

That will really suck for some on this board if it happens. If Marcell gets bumped and LSU flips a 5-star OL it will be miserable around here. Oh well, I can handle it. The misery is enjoyable for me.

Recruiting rankings are a bigger beast than they were back then. So much more money in recruiting sites now. Heck 247 didnt even exist when Colston and Brees were in school and now they are the premier site.

How do you explain Greedy Williams, DJ Chark and Russell Gage? They are recent players.

Hell, Duke Riley was taken in the 3rd round of the NFL draft and was 539th rated player and 42nd OLB by 24/7.

I would think people would learn their lessons more than ever these days, don't count your chickens before they've hatched in this recruiting game.

Exactly and it seems to me that after what happened with Surtain last season, people would be more hesitant than ever to consider kids apart of the class in July before they've even committed. That's all I was saying.
