I’m afraid to admit it, but I’ve never heard of Unity Field before

Unfortunately LSU may be an unsavable shithole. They have no one to blame but themselves.

I disagree. When somebody gets shot -- whether it's self inflicted or by another person -- quietly is not in play anymore. Frick their feelings.

I feel you, but the Reveille already turned it racial and now they have time to organize. It could be worse for the ATM game.

The way they wrote this piece makes it seem like LSU is targeting black people and the black Greeks even though Lee said they weren't. I'm not sure who asked the question.

quote:

Interim President Matt Lee said that the university had traced the origins of the two weekend shootings to “a well-defined geographic area”: Unity Field. He said officials felt that closing it off would “eliminate that problem.”

That tailgating area is traditionally home to many Black Greek and student organizations.

Lee said one student organization had submitted an “inaccurate application” for their tailgating intentions, was attracting “unmanageable crowds” and was engaging in “illegal or dangerous behavior.”

Lee said the group is now being disciplined through student conduct but wouldn’t reveal the group’s name.

“This isn’t about race. It’s about place,” Lee said when asked if the tailgate closure targets Black people specifically.

You think the black Greeks are going to accept what Lee said and stand down?

Yeah well the reveille has been staffed by retarded race baiters for at least the last 10-15 years, so that's nothing new.

What's there to accept? This isn't a negotiation. If they break the law then they'll be detained.

Heightened security but still no phone service on game days to know if any other shootings occur.

I don’t know. They don’t have much choice do they?

Why ask questions you already know the answers to? And if you have any sense you would feel the same way. Time for there to be some accountability.

This is the saddest result. Down right un-American. I guess the thousands of drunks stumbling around is just fine though.

I walked past the so called Unity Field last week 3 hours before kickoff and was shocked what was going on there and immediately felt unsafe.

This shows that pressure can work. They seemed to at least come up with a plan fairly quickly. We'll see if this is enough.
