Half of those 11 years were affected by NCAA sanctions
Only 3 out of 11 years, FYI
And LSU went to one sweet-16 in those probation years. So basically, JB only got 1 great year out of his 7 plus yrs here after the probation.

I agree that team underperformed
OK, at least you agreed that was a bad job by Brady, not due to lacked of talents.
How about this one:
Including the Samford yrs and 11 seasons at LSU, Brady's teams went to the NCAA tourneys 4 times (all at LSU, he didn't lead any of his team while at Samford)
They all had the same bitter taste in their last games:
Lost to Purdue, UAB, UCLA and Wisconsin in double digits as the favorite teams.
Please name me 1 HC at a major conference school that sucked at tournament time like Brady did.
Where was Brady's coaching in those 4 losses???
Bottom line, JB wasn't and still is not a average HC in the SEC/Sun Belt yet. (Could be never)
BTW, when do you thinks UGA or Alabama will interview him ???

Before the NCAA levied sanctions they were able to cobble together enough talent to advance to the Sweet 16. The sanctions impacted recruiting classes in 1999, 2000, and 2001. The reduced visits and reduced scholarships affected the development of the program through at least 2003 perhaps even longer. Perhaps they could have signed a couple more good players in 1999 that would have led to victory over Wisonsin. They would not have had to compete the entire 2001 SEC slate with only five scholarship players when two starters had season ending knee injuries.

Since you selectively chose the NCAA losses I will do the same and provide an even better example. Billy Donovan's Florida Gators were eliminated five straight years in the first or second round by lower seeded teams. Several years they were a top four seed. Two of Brady's losses occurred in the Sweet 16 and Final Four, not round one and two to teams in the bottom third of the seedings.

As do all 95 teams who are eliminated fronm post season play each season.

Actually Brady is a revered coach at Samford where he is the most successful coach in school history. Every thing is relative.

Probably during the SEC tournament next week.

I'm much more hopeful with Johnson than I have ever been about LSU basketball in the 37 years I've been following them.
Are you sure you didn't mean "7" years. If not, you're an idiot.

B. Donovan's teams were eliminated but at least they were competitive to the end. J. Brady's teams all were spanked by double digits by half-time or early second half. See the differences???

Donovan's teams had a much larger gap in seeding than did LSU. Donovan did not have to deal with the NCAA sanctions while building his program.
I am certain there are other programs which have struggled inthe NCAA tournament.
The most asinine thing is to constantly focus on that one last game that they played poorly, yet completely ignore the accomplishments of the whole season. By making a Sweet 16 they assured that only 8 teams advanced further in that season. In 2006 only two teams advanced further. I would rather celebrate those achievements instead of focusing on one game.
