re: LSU drops out of TD.com Top 10 Poll...

Nonsense....Washington beat USC at Seattle. Washington took Notre Dame to OT in South Bend. Washington will end up ranked in the top 30 to 35 at the end of the season. LSU played Florida to the expected point spread loss of 10 points. LSU won 2 out of 2 SEC road games. Miami has gotten credit for beating a Bradfordless OU at home and a poor FSU team that got humiliated by losing AT HOME to a S. Florida team whose QB hadn't even started a college game. LSU belongs in the top 10 and Miami doesn't.

So, using this logic, if Florida was favored by 27 and won by 27, would LSU be a top ten team?

Yeah, I can understand you not wanting to mention them. You know when Miami jumped something like 13 spots in the poll? It was the week that Miami beat a nobody like GA Tech? BUT FSU clobbered BYU in Provo. Miami got the benefit of FSU's win right after they have beaten FSU. the one problem is that FSU hasn't won a game since then.

You act as if this is some kind of accomplishment.

Against average competition.

How can you use the Oklahoma missing bradford excuse and then ignore corp playing when landry jones >>> corp.

beating a Bradfordless OU at home
They are still a top 25 team without Bradford.

How many times do I have to tell you? Im not talking about FSU. You are completely ignoring georgia tech.

Beat someone. Miami has beaten two teams that are better than anyone LSU has beat
You are delusional if you think Georgia > OU, Ga Tech.

Can you post something that makes sense next time?

Noooo, but if LSU wasn't ranked as high as they were, the point spread wouldn't have been only 9 or 10 points would they? My philosophy works for all point spreads. Essentially if you lose by the point spread, you drop very little.
Using your example of Florida -27 vs LSU, I can promise you that LSU wouldn't be ranked #4 going in if the point spread was 27 points! Thanks for asking.

#4 teams at home arent usually 10 point underdogs, especially when the opposing qb might not play and just came off a concussion.

I just told you why Miami jumped up...totally bogus reason. They jumped on someone else's win, not even their own. And then that team FSU turned out to be a fraud to begin with. S. Florida and GA Tech losses, I don't think so!
Posted on 10/13/09 at 12:37 pm to Tomm
georgia tech is 5-1, beat msu by more than lsu and their only loss was @ miami.
that win is why miami moved up
that win is why miami moved up

Once again, I am giving my opinion on OTHER's polls. As I've now said twice, polls are bogus until at least one more week of play. Plus, I haven't even seen Cincinnati play yet. I have seen the teams I'm commenting on....Virginia Tech...Miami....LSU...Georgia...Oklahoma State...Oklahoma, etc.
I will continue to say that Virginia Tech is way overrated. I also said at the beginning of the season that having Ole Miss in the top 10 was insane, which is proven to have been true. Miami has proven little by beating a poor FSU team that can't beat S. Florida or GA Tech and by winning against OU without Bradford and winning that game by 1 point AT HOME! I believe they beat GA Tech and lost to Virginia Tech?

Most teams who are #4 don't play the #1 team at home do they...or on the road for that matter? And the line was NOT 9 or 10 points when Tebow MIGHT not play. The line went down to 7.5 points and that was still with him having a chance to play. Sooo, I guess your statements were quite irrelevant to the situation, huh?

saying it is meaningless unless you offer an alternative. If they are over rated some one by definaaition is under rated. Name that team.

Ga Tech had not played MSU at the time that Miami beat them. And Miami moved up the week that FSU clocked BYU at Provo. I don't think the voters knew taht Ga Tech was going to beat MSU more than LSU beat MSU since GA Tech hadn't played them yet.

How could someone drop florida in their poll after winning. Bama beat Ole Miss not New England
Posted on 10/13/09 at 12:46 pm to Lithium
I've had Bama at 1 for a few weeks now.

Asked, answered, and explained. Polls are bogus at the beginning of the season and even the BCS poll I believe just started this week. The ONLY reason polls exist at the beginning of the season is to advertise games. Hard to advetise, "folks we have a great game between Alabama which may be a top 10 team vs Virginia Tech that may be a top 20 team".
