The TOP is somewhat misleading because of quick scores
that's part of the point
we had been a ball-control offense (even against shitty teams) until last night. last night we started throwing deep and trying for quick scores, like it was 2010 all over again
now i don't care, but TOP was the stat everyone touched themselves about before bama. now everyone discards it

WKU only had a tenuous grasp on the game until the goal line stand
they were half a yard from making it 21-14 in the 3rd quarter, brah

quote:Good point. That's was the "Lee offense" until Lee got in the game.
JJ had no effect on the running game either, b/c we weren't calling option plays with him in (which was curious)
Very strange.
Lee nearly quadrupled JJ's YPC. Does that make Lee a better runner?

yeah JJ ran the lee offense, and lee ran the JJ offense. it was hilarious to watch (for what i saw of lee)

Ds must now account for lee in the rushing game

Yeah, that was impressive against a program that, until a 5 game winning streak vs ULM, ULL, FIU, etc was the most pathetic FBS program in the NCAA.
Wow.
You, or course, realize that LSU has only played FOUR games against teams with a higher ranking in rush defense?

Awesome. We scored 2 points more than we did against a Top 5 team in a road game in the first game of the season. Now THAT is impressive!
That was due to the 4 turnovers we caused against Oregon. Lee actually played pretty bad.

Really, you're trying too hard.
Trying too hard to what? Show that LSU had a great game offensively last night?
The facts speak for themselves.

All part of Les' master plan, my friend. All part of the plan.

Again, the opponent had as much to do with that as anything.
I don't know why you're making such a big deal out of it.

We played Western Kentucky dude.

Wasn't the score 21-9 with around 5 minutes left in the third? How are people seriously believing this was LSU's best offensive game of the season when they ran the score up against a terrible team with no depth?

Should this really be that magnificent of a feat considering our opponent and the quality of opponents that we have played up to this point? We've faced a lot of good defenses. Not surprising that we're going to have a much better than average running game against a team that is severely undermanned.
Oh, and LSU did play against Northwestern State.

Other than the Bama game it appears that Lee has improved throughout the season though
Playing against Oregon when you weren't slated to be the starter going into the season isn't easy.

our starter only threw 10 passes, and he was 9/10 that game

we threw a bunch of bombs last night that we didn't typically try with our "Grind it out" offense
what's so shocking?

LSU was throwing deep and trying for quick scores in 2010?

until 2:53 in the 3rd (and that was blue's big run to score)

are you really brusting out the defensive stats of a non-BCS team?

that was about all we could try, in 2010
we were boom or bust (more often bust)

You know Western Kentucky's defensive stats aren't skewed at all.

They play in the God damn sunbelt conference you moron
Their competition is going to severely dictate that statistic
Why do you insist on being so obtuse?
